Charbroiled oysters and the honey buns put it into a new category

First visit at Joey D's tonight. It's the Friday-night favorite of a friend of mine. Everything seems really solid, but the charbroiled oysters and the honey buns put this place into a new category. Both are really good / decadent in their own right and if you happen to have them in the same... read more

First visit at Joey D's tonight. It's the Friday-night favorite of a friend of mine. Everything seems really solid, but the charbroiled oysters and the honey buns put this place into a new category. Both are really good / decadent in their own right and if you happen to have them in the same meal you are covering some serious... More

Joey D's was close to my hotel and having travelled for hours I was ready for something close. I had read some of the reviews and was worried that I'd have a wait on a Sunday night, but to my surpirse I was seated immediately. I had in mind to order a steak or prime rib, but when I realized... Very good service and food. This has been in our neighborhood for quite a while. I just wish we thought to go back there more often. I've had good business lunches there and fun family dinners. Service is consistently good. Food is, too.

We were in Atlanta for a conference and one of my staff went there first. When she said it was the best steak she had ever had, my husband and I had to try it. We arrived early but that was a good thing. Will was our waiter and, man, he was excellent. His suggestions were perfect and his attention... More

I mostly went here since it was right across from my hotel, but it ended up being a very nice place. I enjoyed the ambiance of the ceiling fans and all the windows. The server was good and the food was good. Had the prime rib - not the best I've had, but definitely good. Recommended.

I do suggest making reservations, because this place is hoppin. Appetizers: Mussels Marinara Very good and fresh. Nice portion House Salad with freahly made croissant. Again nice portion salad but the Croissant...is amazing!!! Main course: Kansas City Strip 18oz. That was perfectly seasoned and cooked. No A1 needed.

Nice dining experience in a comfortable oak room environment. Standard American dishes (watch that high fat content) as well as some fresh surprises. Wonderful bar and cocktail menu as well as a friendly wait staff.

Snotty expensive but good food and good service. I've been coming here regularly. Reminds me of old New York restaurants where you might see gangsters. Lol.

Haven't visited here in years. Still holds up. Prompt, efficient, yet friendly service. The Reuben with Mustard, instead of Russian, was fantastic. Skip the appetizer and fries as this dish alone is more than enough food for one, maybe even two people. Will have to make sure I visit more frequently.

Our first visit, a party of eight good friends, was to celebrate two birthdays in the group. The other 6 (three couples) had been before and raved about it. My wife and I had not and were eager to see what the fuss was all about. Our ages ranged from 51 to 66, my wife and I being the younger... More
