This is a slightly upscale noodle house... upscale compared to other noodle houses. All four of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly. The food was great. The service was great. It was busy, so it was a little noisy. The prices are very reasonable. Be prepared to wait for a table. This place is popular.

Good noodles by neighborhood chain. Typical noodle/thai menu. Ingredients are fresh and meals are made to order, not pre-made. Pleasant staff, good value. Good standby, never disappoints.

I met a friend and colleague recently at Doc Chey's at her suggestion. Not being familiar with this area of town I deferred to her recommendation. It was a delightful surprise. First, we dined al fresco which is nice at this time of year. Second, she gold me how the system worked (you place the order and pay first) the... More

It may not be fine dining, but the food is excellent. I started off with the steamed edamame. There were enough for four people! My friend and I shared the lettuce wraps with tofu. There was just enough sauce to add flavor, without being overpowering or messy. For my entree I had a veggie szechuan stir-fry. Fresh and delicious with... More

It's small. It's EXTREMELY casual. It's tucked away in the corner of a small strip retail center at the North end of Virginia Highlands. But the people are friendly, the food is good and it's fast and convenient - especially for anyone living the immediate area. Dine-in or take-out, Doc Chey's satisfies. I'd recommend you give it a try.

Some of the reviews are actually for Dragon Bowl and not Doc Chey's. Homegrown had announced the menu would be different at the new restaurant. We go to the N. Highland Doc Chey's frequently and it's consistent and good. One of our favorite restaurants.

But a really great place for a casual meal out. A variety of Chinese and Thai style dishes all as far as I could see prepared quickly and well and served in informal canteen like surroundings with shared tables. I had chicken Thai red curry with jasmine rice which was good and served in a sensible sized portion. If I... More

I think I would have rated this higher if I had not been a Doc Chey regular for the past 5 years. The panko crusted chicken for kids is gone. We selected the American style chicken and rice. The black rice wasn't the least bit appealing to any child under 10 but the ketchup/bbq covered chicken was excellent. I had... More

Thur night after a long road trip we arrived here and were immediately seated. We waited a little bit for the server since the place was slammed with people but w/ the extra time we decided on what we wanted to eat. Food came out fast so I was a little skeptical BUT it was awesome!! The kids, especially the... More

OK, so totally honest here...I have not officially dined at Dragon Bowl yet (they open late July 2014). I have been a regular at Doc Chey's Noodle House at Emory Village for years, and the owners are currently converting this location into a new type of restaurant called Doc Chey's Dragon Bowl. The new place is based on the noodle... More
