A solid meal, pretty cheap, when in Midtown

Good place to get the food us southern folks grew up on... Collards, peas, cornbread, fried chicken... If it was served at the church social, you'll find out here!

The staff was kind, welcoming and full of southern charm, but the food lacked in flavor. Whiskey Lemonade tasted like countrytime powder mix and chicken and dumplings seriously lacked seasoning. All in all, worth a visit, but not worth the hype.

Unable to decide on just one entree, we opted to enjoy the Southern Special...served family style, we've never had better fried chicken, cube steaks, and chicken and dumplings!! The cheese and veggie soufflé was divine, but oh, the tomato pie....that alone will bring me back every time we return to Atlanta!!! He would say that about the banana pudding...the peach... More

Because this place is #1 and is so well known in the Atlanta area, my friend took me there when I was visiting. The restaurant is bright, cheerful, well maintained and has lots to see because there are so many news articles and photos on the walls. Zane, our server, what such a friendly young man who provided excellent customer... More

Great place for a social dinner with family and friends. A lot of southern dishes to choose from. Like a lot of restaurants, you lose some of the touch when it gets big but still a great place especially when you can get a backrub from Jo who was originally from Logan Co. WV.

The meal was incredible. If you're looking for good, old fashioned southern food, this is the place to be. From sweet tea, to fried chicken and fried green tomatoes, the meal was excellent.

Our taxi driver told us to go here. It's the last "Tea Room" in Atlanta. Great Southern food. Don't go there on a diet. After being seated, they give you the menu and a piece of paper and you fill in your order, a throwback to when the lines were out the door and they wanted to process people quickly.... More

We eat here a few times a year and each time it seems something isn't as good as it used to be. The Mud Bugs were good and let's not forget the incredible cinnamon rolls! There were 5 of us and each person mentioned something really tasty on their plate as well as something that wasn’t quite as good. The... More

Fried chicken, and at waiters suggestion, got the broccoli soufflé and fried green tomatoes as the two sides. Each were superb. Fried chicken had a light coating, juicy chicken. Sweet tea was great. Place is surprisingly enormous inside. And as it was my first time, has a complimentary mini soup. Highly recommend the place.

this place has great atmosphere. almost a Norman Rockwell painting. not too fancy. the food will remind you of dinner at grandma's house. they have crackling bread with pot liquor. the Brunswick stew is a treat. had the ground sirloin steak with mushrooms and onions, delicious. an Atlanta landmark, that's not to be missed.
