Fat Matt's is the ultimate rib and chicken stand in Atlanta. The ribs melt off the bones and the rum baked beans are wonderful.

We decided to visit the place because of the ratings it has. The restaurant has live music, although it was crowded and we spent a while in the line. Unfortunately the music was pretty loud, so we ate outside on the porch. As to the food, we didn't find it any special.

After arriving in Atlanta after a long flight, a friend brought to Fat Matt's. She said that it was rustic - but offered some of the best ribs and sides in town. It was a Tuesday night and there was a line out the door. Not only did we enjoy perfectly smoked ribs - but the beans and collard greens... More

Fat Matt's is simply THE BEST place in the Atlanta area to go for ribs and barbecue chicken! The rustic dining room adds to the feeling that you're eating with friends. The chicken is tender and juicy, while the ribs fall right off the bone! We always enjoy Fat Matt's Rib Shack!

tiny portion sizes on the sides - baked beans, cole slaw, etc. Otherwise, the ribs, etc., are YUMMMMMMILY!! And the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere is FANTASTIC!!!!! Go early and plan on taking your time - and take cash and, especially, handy wipes to help rid you of your sticky fingers ;-)

All the locals told us to go... So we did! The long line out the door was a clear indicator that we were in the right spot. It is easy, simple BBQ. Ribs, pulled pork and more ribs. Greens, Mac n cheese, chips. Inside tables with live music sometimes, outside tables if you want to get some sunshine. Would I... More

The place is a bit small and can be crowded depending on when but its amazing. The ribs are great, the service is very fast and friendly and the sides are also worthwhile. Mac & Cheese was very enjoyable and the pricing was extremely reasonable. They also have live music many nights which was some great blues. They are open... More
