They have the best chef & great hidden local gem as well as being a hot spot. If you are in a bad mood or usually moody or picky stay away. Because this place is special & the picky person never will be happy. This place has Hip people, & swagger & history 7 great food. It is pricy so... More

I have been coming to Hal's for at least 18 years. It has become my go to steak place in Atlanta. It is not just the steaks, but the whole package. The appetizers, the salads, the staff, and the atmosphere. It is a great place to bring out of town guests who always leave impressed.

Steaks cooked perfectly, great service. A perfect way to spend my 20th anniversary. A true old time steakhouse. You must have the White Truffle Mac And Cheese.

Had the good fortune to have dinner at Hal's this week. Great place, love it. Incredible old steak house feel, great, friendly service and the atmosphere and people were just great fun. Oysters, ray and grilled - terrific, Bone in Rib Eye excellent, and all the sides delicious. Its not cheap by any means but well worth the $$ and... More

I have lived less than three miles from Hal's for the past 25 years, and yet, I have never eaten here before. My wife and I are looking for a new regular place. Chopstix was our regular place for years, but it gotten taken out by the recession. Then we began to adopt Ruth's Chris (which was also three miles... More

We had a large group of about 20 people, and had reservations for one of the private rooms. Due to the size we had the limited menu and we automatically received one of each of the appetizers. Oysters, calamari, craw fish, and shrimp were all given 2 thumbs up by our group. Next was a choice of house salad or... More

As someone who travels throughout the US and has had the fortunate opportunity to eat at some of the top chop houses including NY Prime in Boca Raton, Cattlemens in Oklahoma City, Pappas Brothers in Dallas and many others. Food - I started with the chilled shrimp with was covered in their housemade sauce and over a bed of lettuce.... More

Hal's is known for serving steak cooked to perfection BUT they also have a lovely Chilean Sea Bass which I would recommend if you are not in the red meat mood. They know how to mix the perfect martini and the wait staff is attentive without being over bearing. The main downside is the noise - is typically very noisy... More

We had such great food and service on a Friday night in a packed house. The bar scene here is always lively and plenty of locals hang with visitors. The starter we had was a specialty, oysters baked with garlic butter and parmesan; so good we ordered it again and at every one. The sea bass was dynamite and prepared... More

I rarely give anything 5 stars but the Filet I had here this past weekend was the best I've had in Atlanta and should be rated a 5+ (and yes I've been to the famous place on Piedmont). They also have an excellent wine list with several quality bottle choices for an affordable price. I will say that both the... More
