Good, but very expensive

Was a really nice restaurant, and pretty expensive. Very good swordfish & the cheesy mashed potato (side) were awesome! The upstairs was quite loud, so be prepared for minimal talking if you happen to eat upstairs.

My favorite steakhouse in town. Great bar, piano entertainment, locals hang out here. Fun bartenders. Excellent waiters. And by far the best darn steak in town. I always order the filet. The lobster labow appetizer is out of this world delicious.

Good was delicious, service was good but waiter's knowledge about wines was not impressive for an expensive restaurant. Place is noisy and crowded

Hal's is more of an old school style steakhouse with a Cajun tilt to it's menu. This visit was my second time and the steaks were perfect. Hal's is a little pricey but for "that" occasion this would be a great choice, the food and atmosphere are worth it.

I have been wanting to go for a long time. The opportunity finally presented itself this weekend. There is only one thing I can say that I did not like. It is pretty dark inside. Had to pull the phone out just to read the menu. After that it was perfect. I ordered a blackened fillet. So good I am... More

Hal's on Old Ivy = $$$. You should realize that you're going to spend some cash before you leave. The steaks are awesome. The wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. The wine list is impressive. My wife and I had a truly enjoyable dinner there on a recent Saturday night. We had a bottle of wine, the Fried Lobster... More

I love this place. It is consistently delicious. The atmosphere is boisterous and fun not at all like the other uptight, stuffy steak restaurants. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and nobody has ever been disappointed.

Great food, great service, lame event coordinator Jennifer. Unprofessional, unresponsive. Does not follow through with what she says. I took a large party there, it was like pulling teeth to get anything out of her. You commit to 24 dinners, I would expect responsiveness. Yo Hal's Mgt, you reading this?

My wife and I shared our birthday/Valentine's Day at Hals. The place was packed; however, we were immediately seated due to reservations. We've been many places with reservations and rarely seated this quickly. We ordered the bone-in Ribeye and Filet. The steaks were cooked perfectly! Our meal and drinks arrived promptly and our glasses never stayed empty. Service was excellent... More

My wife and I visited Hal's for a weekend get away dinner. First the positive. The meal was fantastic. Had our steak charred "Pittsburgh style", absolutely divine. The resturaunt has old school supper club charm. I love it. No the bad, we had a 7:30 reservation and did not get seated until 8:30. Had a drink at the bar which... More
