Galatoire's Restaurant is the best of New Orleans. Hal's on Old Ivy is the Galatoire's of Atlanta. Period. Paragraph.

We had reservations for 9 PM, but we're not seated until 9:25 PM. Apparently if you know someone there it helps to get a table - several we're sat as soon as they walked even though tables were open. There was musical entertanment - if you like lounge lizard style music - but it did not fit the atmosphere of... More

There are many very good high end steak houses in Atlanta but Hal's signature filet has withstood the test of time and remains the best.Service and lively atmosphere just add to the experience.

The food was delicious. Steaks cooked perfectly. Escargot yummy. Service was very good. But...we had a reservation and were not seated until almost 1 hour after our reservation. Just not acceptable. There are a lot of other restaurants in Atlanta with outstanding food and impeccable service that will seat you when you have a reservation. Just not worth the excessive... More

They have the best chef & great hidden local gem as well as being a hot spot. If you are in a bad mood or usually moody or picky stay away. Because this place is special & the picky person never will be happy. This place has Hip people, & swagger & history 7 great food. It is pricy so... More

I have been coming to Hal's for at least 18 years. It has become my go to steak place in Atlanta. It is not just the steaks, but the whole package. The appetizers, the salads, the staff, and the atmosphere. It is a great place to bring out of town guests who always leave impressed.

Steaks cooked perfectly, great service. A perfect way to spend my 20th anniversary. A true old time steakhouse. You must have the White Truffle Mac And Cheese.

Had the good fortune to have dinner at Hal's this week. Great place, love it. Incredible old steak house feel, great, friendly service and the atmosphere and people were just great fun. Oysters, ray and grilled - terrific, Bone in Rib Eye excellent, and all the sides delicious. Its not cheap by any means but well worth the $$ and... More

I have lived less than three miles from Hal's for the past 25 years, and yet, I have never eaten here before. My wife and I are looking for a new regular place. Chopstix was our regular place for years, but it gotten taken out by the recession. Then we began to adopt Ruth's Chris (which was also three miles... More
