I had been to Joel twice before the remodel. The new smaller space is much more personable. The food was fantastic. The attention to the sauces is exceptional. The wine list has many reasonable selections and the sommelier was most helpful. Truly one of Atlanta's best all around restaurants. more

All of our dishes were wonderful. Just felt it was a little over priced. Dinner for 4 people with 3 appetizers, 4 drinks and 3 desserts was almost $300. more

The food was delicious, but totally over priced. The portions were not even a 1/2 cup. I kid you not. We dropped 80.00 for nothing. We had to go to another restaurant one hour later for a real dinner. I am sorry, but if you are on a starvation diet, like anorexics, this would be the perfect place for you.... more

I love the new space - much smaller and more intimate. The food is really beautiful and presented in such a traditional French way. Wine list is one of the best in the city. It's an overall very good experience. more

Pretty place. I enjoyed the French onion soup--unique in that it was slightly sweet. My main dish--the cod--was average--well made, but I think I chose poorly. Dessert--amazing Pavlova. I would order it again. more

I came witrh 2 friends to his restaurant. The only thing that I can say and write it was a really nice experience -I m in this business since 20 years- Food was excellent, wine really good and service really friendly. With his professional experience, Joël is still a really good guy and not "french" in his attitude. The kind... more

This restaurant is awesome, was given a private tour of the kitchen. The dessert, with the Mango, is awesome...mouth watering just thinking about it. more

In 2007 Joel was reduced to about 1/3 of its original size as it was rarely filled and had an enormous bar area that stayed empty. The new space is cozier but you have to exit the restaurant for restrooms located in the office building lobby, which is a bit odd for a pricey French restaurant. The cuisine does not... more

Food was right on for what it was. Flavors nice, could have used a grind of fresh pepper. Salmon mousse was to salty. Wine was good. Kitchen tour was fun. Service was good but very green. Decor and overall feeling a bit lobby like, but comfortable. Price a little high. Overall would not return but would suggest for foodies b/c... more
