Its been many years since we dined at Mckinnon's. Why I'll never know. It was truly a step back into an "old school" time of warm surroundings, gracious hospitality and superb dining. The owner and his staff were "always there but not too close ". The food was outstanding. Numerous preparations of fresh seafood prepared in the Louisiana tradition. This... More

McKinnons is one of my favorite places in Atlanta. Very heavy seafood emphasis. Prices are a bargain with the most expensive item $28. Doesnt look like much from the outside- don''t let that scare you away. The inside has a very dated look to it, but thats what gives the place its charm. There are alot of regulars here which... Things you may find helpful: 1) I found this place when searching for seafood restaurants, even though their sign and website talk about "Cajun and Creole" I found this to be more seafood oriented than New Orleans oriented; 2) If you have to take route 237 (Piedmont Road) to get there then add time to your drive; 3) if you... It was a step back in time, and the warm welcome by Ebi the bartender that had us going back for a second night. It was like being at a family members house. The food was excellent. We will be back the next time we are in town.

We were recommended by the concierge at our hotel to go here, as we were looking for a more local restaurant. We went two nights, one of which was just us and Ebi(the manager), and the other was one of their live music nights. Ebi was a fabulous bartender for us, and was great conversation. The owner was extremely friendly... More

We visited McKinnon's for the first time after passing by it and hearing about it for years and I must say, it did not disappoint! I am from the South and love Louisiana food and often go to Papadeaux to get me fix but I feel McKinnon's is so much more authentic and the food is more flavorful. Now, don't... More

We live in Miami and every time we visit Atlanta or pass through we make plans to stop and eat here. The food is delicious and we've tried most items on the menu. The service is top-notch and the owner is warm and friendly and never forgets us. We've been coming here for years before we had kids and tonight... More

We visited this restaurant last weekend while visiting Atlanta. My husband and I loved it and we had our 5 year old grandson with us. When we entered I was surprised at the white tablecloths and napkins and the dressed up waiters! I thought possibly it was not a good choice to bring small children. However we all had a... More

Parking for McKinnon's is easy, though it's just off Peachtree on a quiet street. The food and ambience are relaxed and undemanding. We had oysters Rockefeller, fried shrimp and a crawfish etouffe. The oysters were fine but not outstanding. The entrees were well prepared from recipes that clearly were familiar to the kitchen and our fellow diners, but solid at best,... More

Visiting just before Christmas, this place was alive with the joy and festivities of the season. We enjoyed live piano music during our delicious meal (get the Oscar, truly fabulous), then were treated to a rousing chorus of Christmas carols from the patrons of the bar. They'd been supplied with song sheets (and had supplied themselves with the right amount... More
