Buckhead classic Cajun!

I love this place! Old-school Buckhead. No glitzy glam, no muss and fuss, just delicious food and fine cocktails! Ariz runs a tight ship here and it's very welcoming, eclectic and fun!

Restaurant was quite cozy, and the host and servers were wonderful. With that beginning, we were expecting to have some really good food. I ordered the tuna entree and my husband ordered the grouper entree. I was very disappointed in the tuna as it was not fresh, and though the grouper was satisfactory, it was cold. This will be our... Classic, throwback and old school quickly come to mind. But delicious and impeccable service are also appropriate. When you first walk in, it might seem as if you’ve entered a time warp. But McKinnon’s has found a formula that works and they’ve stuck with it. The menu is stuffed with seafood, some classics and some that speak to the Cajun... More

The ambiance and the attentiveness of the wait staff makes McKinnons. It is like going out to dinner in the age of Mad Men or Leave it to Beaver. It is quite charming in a genteel sort of way. The food was good and the portions and pricing reasonable. It did not have the bite that I normally expect in... More

It is obvious that this owner is hell bent on having the best service, food and wine in the city of Atlanta. The location is deceiving. But when you go through the well worn doors you are greeted with the ambiance that was the calling card of a top of the line dinning locale. Each time I have visited the place... More

Read some really great reviews on Tripadvisor, so I was excited to try a Cajun place down in Atlanta. The good reviews must be because the staff is so nice or a lot of people do not know what "good food" is. First off, the concierge at the Ritz-Carlton and the shuttle driver never heard of this place (bad sign).... More

This restaurant offered us some of the best seafood we ever taste din Atlanta. They also have the BEST HUSHPUPPIES we ever tasted like...ever! However, it's on the expensive side. Get your wallets ready (we paid more than $80 for 2 persons with no alcohol ordered and WITH a Scoutmob discount). Still, money comes and goes but memories of a... More

I never tire of this classic restaurant. The food is impeccably prepared and served beautifully. The owner is most gracious and greets everyone personally. Two of my long time friends and I dined there April 18. I had the grouper and my friends had the crab cakes and Trout Almondine. Everything was delicious. A crusty bread was shared at the... More

A group of us returned to McKinnon's for the fifth or sixth time. As usual, we received a warm greeting from the owner -- and that was the last we saw of him. The waiter, who has been there for years, seemed very rushed. As such all of us felt pressure to order drinks, order our meals, and don't occupy... More

If you're looking for warm, inviting service and delicious classic Louisiana seafood, McKinnon's the place to go. Service in so many restaurants has gotten too rushed and casual. McKinnon's is traditional and respectful, the way many restaurants used to be. Looking forward to our next visit!
