When you walk thru the doors you are transported back in time where you are greeted by friendly faces and old school decor. Food is really good, and owner and staff make you feel like you are a part of this happy family. There is nothing they won't do to make your meal as enjoyable as possible. We keep going... More

The menu is surprising, featuring a range of beef, seafood, and chicken dishes, all wonderfully prepared and seasoned. The owner is "hands-on," enthusiastically explaining each dish and makes the dining experience more interesting. Everyone on the waitstaff is well trained and service is great. The grouper and scallops are especially worth trying. It's worth the visit and is conveniently located... More

Great New Orleans style food. The atmosphere is old fashioned, in fact the clientele probably averaged about 80. But, interesting, a lot of old Atlanta gentry and entertainers, TV personalities from yesteryear.

We were in Atlanta for a day and had an early dinner on a Monday evening. We were very pleased with this sorta neighborhood eatery. I had a seafood stew with good variety and excellent flavor. My wife e buoyed a Halibut filet cooked perfectly and exhibited good flavors. We shared a calamari appetizer which was outstanding. Although the wine... More

McKinnon's has been around for a long time and it is great every time I go... terrific creole inspired dishes and wonderful service. Some of the best seafood in the area.

Its been many years since we dined at Mckinnon's. Why I'll never know. It was truly a step back into an "old school" time of warm surroundings, gracious hospitality and superb dining. The owner and his staff were "always there but not too close ". The food was outstanding. Numerous preparations of fresh seafood prepared in the Louisiana tradition. This... More

McKinnons is one of my favorite places in Atlanta. Very heavy seafood emphasis. Prices are a bargain with the most expensive item $28. Doesnt look like much from the outside- don''t let that scare you away. The inside has a very dated look to it, but thats what gives the place its charm. There are alot of regulars here which... Things you may find helpful: 1) I found this place when searching for seafood restaurants, even though their sign and website talk about "Cajun and Creole" I found this to be more seafood oriented than New Orleans oriented; 2) If you have to take route 237 (Piedmont Road) to get there then add time to your drive; 3) if you...
