Good Food, Fun, a little pricy... & Salsa Dancing Fridays

We were there Friday early for a quiet dinner. Hummus and other food was excellent as well as the service. Their sangria was excellent as well. A little pricey, but very good. We came back about 9:30 with plans for the Cuban Salsa Dancing in the back room and waited at the bar until it was... read more

When we arrived there was only one other couple in the place. We were a little apprehensive at first but we forged ahead. We had lots of dishes to chose from. I chose the YiaYia's Chicken - Stuffed Chicken Breast and my wife had the Moussaka. Both were very good. As we were eating someone turned the background music up.... More

We are generally reluctant to go to a touristy restaurant but this was a pleasant exception. We just got in from the US in the evening and needed some food at a place close by our hotel. We choose it because it had a better crowd than other places around them. Don't get turned away by a fairly aggressive 'sales... More

We got here when they opened and things were slow but they were gearing up for a big party. The flaming cheese was wonderful. The spanakopita crisp and tasty. I tried the roast lamb and my husband the lamb kabobs. Both were great but I really loved the flavor of the kabobs. Grass is always greener I guess. We don't... More

The food was great, cocktails...not so much. The drinks tasted watered down as other reviewers stated. Next time, I will drink wine. I didn't try the flaming cheese; but the hummus was delicious! We plan to return and try the flaming cheese.

About a month my friend and I went out to enjoy some great Greek food that we have visited many times before. This time we had a restaurant.com certificate and were unable to use it do to the new management. We did not have any problems redeeming it with the voucher as our waitress explain to us to do. The... More

This is our first visit to Atlanta, and we wanted something different. Taverna Plaka certainly fit the bill and made for a wonder evening for two. We were greeted at the door by two people who offered us seating either inside or on the enclosed patio, where we ended up sitting next to a propane fire that kept us warm... More

Many of the previous reviews caused me to question whether we should stop here and eat or look for another place. Boy, I'm glad we stopped! The food was fantastic and the service was good. The manager spent time walking around the tables and asking if everything was good, so very happy to see management engaged in the work to... More

Our experience was really, really disappointing, and epitomized a business without any understanding of proper customer service or Branding. A couple months back I bought a gift certificate to take my fiancé out to a nice dinner at Plaka, and when we went to redeem the certificate Friday night the manager said that it was no longer valid. He claimed... More

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening with another couple, After ordering the Chef's Menu (a sampling of many items from the menu) we sipped a glass of wine and enjoyed the entertainment: Greek music, belly dancers, lots of napkin throwing, and more! First came the salad and some warm pita and fresh hummus made at the table. Then... More
