Either cold or burned. The edamame was served cold and tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier. The sushi had the same "old" taste. I could even see the avocado had started to brown because it had been sitting out so long. Another time I went, the rice bowl ingredients were over-cooked (charred vegetables). I live near the place... More

I LOVE sushi-fyi. Stayed in Atlanta on business and googled it and found this gem. Rated 2010 best in Citysearch. The food was great. Get the spicy tuna rolls, the cheese kari kari, and the tiger shrimp. Yumm! Okay, so the food was great, the staff is hit or miss-Andrew/Anthony? was great the first night I went there. The next... We wandered into the Virginia-Highland area on a Tuesday afternoon at an odd between lunch and dinner kind of hour. Genki was the only place open and we were starving. We both had the beef and portobella bowl with fried rice and crispy spinach. It was actually quite good and satisfying. A nice filling lunch. I can't speak to their... More

Va-Hi Genki has the best kids menu around. We love taking the family. The seared tuna with roasted vegetables and brown fried rice is incredible. $20 bucks and it could feed 2 people. I will try black and gold sake next time(wife was running peachtreee next day). We drank an unfiltered off the menu for $19 and it was really... More

Stopped in Genki before my wife and I took our daughter to see her first "big girl play at the Fox". Before i got there they had already jumped from one table to the next and finally a third because of how dirty the table tops were. Scary part is that we were the first guests at dinner because it... Have dined at Genki for lunch several times and also picked up 'take out" for dinner twice. I've always ordered sushi. The portions are large, the quality is good, and the wait staff are nice. I've always thought the decor was garish and the place lacking in atmosphere. However, on my most recent visit, Friday night of last week, I... More

Good food, entertaining chefs. HUGE Servings, Economically priced. Valet parking in a very busy area a plus.

This asian fusion restaurant was at the top of my list whenever I visited Atlanta. Now, unfortunately, the food and service has declined to average or worse. The restaurant appears to be going for the bar scene with loud music and louder patrons.

Not sure if something happened when Genki moved but it is not as good. Used to love and crave this place, now... not so much. Service can be sketchy, food looks limper, for lack of a better word.

My children think this place is the bomb. They have just discovered "the noodle house" so common in DC, etc....they are at that age (young 20's). I stuck with sushi, which was pretty good...but not extremely impressive. They sat our group of 4 at a table meant for probably 2 in the back next to the stairs. I thought it... More
