Great Experience, Good Food!

Our daughter had a list of "must visits" for a trip we made to Atlanta to visit her and her husband. This was our Sunday morning destination. We were seated right away but the restaurant became busy very quickly. Our waitress was nice and helpful. I wasn't feeling very well that day and she... read more

We first learned of the Silver Skillet while watching an episode of Delicious Destinations: Atlanta, with Ed Zimmerman, which featured their Red Eyed Gravy and Ham breakfast. The spot intrigued us, and seeing as how it was only a 5.5 hour drive away, we set out to experience it for ourselves. It was like stepping back in time, but on... More

Yes, this is the diner that was featured in Anchorman 2. It has a great vintage look. If movie locations are your thing, you'll get a kick out of that. Other then that, it's kinda meh. It's supposedly a fixture here in town, but I'm not sure why. Maybe I didn't have the right thing for breakfast? I ordered the... More

I was in Atlanta with my family and wanted a good breakfast for the kids. This place showed up on my map, so we tried it out. The sweet little waitress had the thickest southern accent I had heard in a long time. As we ordered, a group of about 30 high school kids came in. My kids were already... More

Because of the history and TV reviews decided to visit for breakfast First thing to note this place is in a poor state of repairs - wallpaper is pelling off the walls and everything on the fixtures and fittings looks very old and tarnished by the sun The food however was really good and the waitress very attentive It has... There was a line out the door for this restaurant so we decided to try it for breakfast. The waitress moved the line quickly and we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. We expected the food to be spectacular since so many people were crammed in this place. We ordered eggs and pancakes and they were no different... More

This is the only remaining intown meat and three plate lunch and breakfast place that I know of. The Star Cafe on Marietta Boulevard on the far west end of midtown is great but I mean deep in the city. Now that everything has to be Mexican this and Mexican that it is great to have a place that has... More

Step inside and go back in time. The place looks like it hasn't changed in decades. Noted for popular movies being filmed there, but that isn't the draw. The staff is representative of old-school Southern hospitality and the food is reminiscent of your grandma's home cooking. A must for any Atlanta visitor.

Step back in time and enjoy a roadside diner the way it used to be. This is a rather famous local dive that's been on DD&D, and reeks of the old days. Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and a bit of history are what you will find here. One of my favorite eateries in Atlanta.

The coolest thing about this place is it's history. The decor is a step back in time! Used as a filming location for several great movies like The Trouble with the Curve and Remember the Titans. The breakfast was good but I'll be back because of the retro feel! They had the best sweet tea in town!
