Something for Everyone

A trip advisor pick that was well worth it. Service was friendly, food was excellent and it was a fairly quiet atmosphere. I decided to be daring and order the meatloaf with spinach. A great choice. They also have a great dessert menu. The orange creme brûlée was different and delicious.

The portobello frittatas that three of us ordered were dry and tasteless. It was basically an overcooked omelet with a few mushrooms and oven dried tomatoes and a small dot of goat cheese dumped on top and way too much overwhelming pesto. Service was basic. Maybe it was an off day, but we certainly were. Not the least bit impressed

Great spot in town to eat with friends or date night. In the summer they have all the windows open and it's nice to sit and take your time. Amazing brisket and horseradish mashed potatoes.

Had a great dinner early Saturday at murphy's. Every element was on target. Kale salad in pinion nuts perfect, flank steak on par with home made. Excellent wine selection (bottle of Patz Chardonnay). Had dessert nearby where we had gelato down the block. Service was good (B+) and meal solid A! We will be back!! Ps - calamari was outstanding... More

Excellent bunch with great lattes, excellent cinnamon bun (got a second to go) and Irish soda muffins in honor of st. Patrick's day. I was a little nervous about taking my 3 year old daughter with us, but they were great and did have a kids menu. I would definitely return and recommend to my family and friends.

We decided to have brunch with friends at Murphy's. We have not been there in years. It was crowded so the parking was bad. Once they fill up the valet stops. So we had to find parking on the street which can be an issue in Virginia Highlands. I had the Southwest Frittata. Excellent. Service was great and the location... More

I think this is an easy go-to if you're looking for a brunch venue. The food was great. The dessert choices are ridiculous!!! Just all types of temptations....not a dieters dreams! Ok for parking, valet available. Will suggest you be prepared to wait a little especially on a weekend....people will line up AND WAIT for their seat!

I had called Murphy's to see if they do anything for birthday celebrations and the girl answered the phone and said you get a complimentary dessert.(They could have mentioned we might have needed reservations if they get busy) My birthday however is February 13 the day before Valentines day. We went inside to the restaurant and the hostess was said... More

We had a 5:45pm Friday reservation, so it was not busy yet! Server was knowable, wine selection good, food awful. The Beef Bourgeois was uneventful and the mashed potatoes were too watery. The side of mashed was also watery, and no sign of potatoes. Box maybe?
