I had the swordfish and was prepared just right - fresh and delicious. My husband had the shrimp boil and raved about it too.

We went here for my birthday dinner to try something new and we left very full and happy. Service was the only thing that was not great and the parking is a little tricky (street parking only) We went around 6:30 pm and it was not to crowded but when we left it was packed . The fresh fish is... More

I went here with my girlfriend and her son. I felt the atmosphere was good and the food was good but it wasn't what I expected. I had heard great things about it but very excited not to say that a good restaurant and what are their main dishes the lobster macaroni and cheese without that day, which is disappointing.

This place has fresh fish and seafood and is very good. The fresh selections are listed on a chalkboard and once they are sold out, the staff crosses out the selections. If you come too late, you may miss out. They offer several methods/spices to prepare your selection. The hush puppies are divine. Side dishes are tasty as well. There... More

We went here right after it opened years ago and was not impressed. We tried again last Saturday and our opinion did a 180. The food and service were excellent. Since they were so crowded, we sat at the bar, but did not loose a beat in service. My one recommendation is you have to try the hush puppies. They... More

I like so much about this restaurant...the concept, the location, the at-mo...I tried it for the third disappointing time. The CORN bread, the cornbread pudding, the hushpuppies and the fried fish are just flat out wrong, wrong, wrong!!! In the South, cornbread should taste like corn, not like tasteless flour and sugar. We feasted well but were unsatisfied. Stomach aches... More

My date reserved a table last Sat morning and we were both looking forward to some great seafood since he is from Boston and I am from Charleston, SC. What we got were 2 plates of disappointment! We first decided to try the hot cheese & crab dip which was so hot that it burned the roof of my mouth... More

This was our first visit to Goin Coastal and it was great, very casual yet if you dressed up you would noty be out of place, its in Virginia Highlands at the corner of Highland and Virginia, I can't beleive I worked on a job with in walking distance and never saw it. We started with the fresh oysters, and... More

Goin' Coastal is casual, creative and comfortable, the right place for fresh, local caught and imaginatively prepared seafood. Entrees change frequently and a first visit prompted the hope that some of the recipes are recycled and returned. An olive oil poached salmon was superb, as was the yellowtail done 'skinny' without added condiments and sauces. Diners can create their own... More

A bunch of the seafood places around town specialize in fried anything. I am not a fried food eater so this place appeals to me much more than other. Its sustainable-ness is nice too. I would have normally gotten the lobster macaroni but they didn't have it. I have had it in the past and its was excellent. I did... More
