Even though I gave them three stars, it is still one of my favorite places to eat. The staff is friendly and they make you feel at home. The food is good but nothing out of this world. They have homemade limoncello that you MUST try and they have other flavors as well. Reason for three stars: 1.) I ordered... More

The service started out good, but then kinda slacked off. It still wasn't terrible. I just thought our waitress could have been a little more attentive to our drinks given that the place wasn't very busy. The food was good. A little lackluster. We we're there for 2-for-1 burger night, so for that price they were really good. The amount... More

We didn't have plans to go Cafe 640, but was glad we changed our plans. We were looking for somewhere that had sandwiches but not the typical pub/sports bar grub. We couldn't have been any more impressed and happier than we were here. We both had sandwiches and they were both amazing. Try the truffle mac and cheese. The house... More

My husband and I only had drinks here but were very impressed by the friendly, attentive service. They actually gave us a delicious, free appetizer, homemade potato chips with gorgonzola cheese and hot sauce. If we hadn't had other plans, we would have had dinner there especially because we were staying in the adjoining Highland Inn.

Stayed in the Highland Inn next door for 2 nights. The first night, we got there pretty tired and just decided to go next door to eat. Everything was so good, we went back the second night, and that's not something I ever do in a new city. Some people have complained about the service; we didn't have any issues,... More

Went here on recommendation of a friend for a good quality, tasty burger. We all got the cafe burger and all agreed it was average, as we're the fries. Atmosphere was great - but lots of dogs so non-dog lovers beware! service was good at firstbut then slacked off and had to track down waitress for check. May return to... More

Went there last night with two friends before a show. The location is good with parking in various locations. Clientele is younger and hip with good atmosphere in the restaurant. Menu is nice and beer and wine list adequate. However, Service is a bit awkward and lacks polish. They ran out of menus, which indicates they may have been very... More

We were staying at the adjacent Highland Inn and didn't want to drive to dinner so we checked out Cafe 640. It was a Tuesday night and the place was very busy with nearby residents engaged in the apparently regular trivia contest. We started with very good calamari and moved on to a wonderful porchetta sandwich and nicely done burger.... More

Nice atmosphere. Friendly, but slow service. We might have just caught them on a bad day though... we all have days like that. Everyone's food looked great. I got the blackened chicken salad on a croissant... I must say, that was the absolute BEST chicken salad I've ever had! Now I just have to figure out what they put in... More

This small Poncey Highland cafe just south of the cool Virginia Highland neighborhood is easy to miss but you shouldn't. Whether you are in the mood for a great burger (beef, turkey or veg) or a small but delicious side like maple roasted brussel sprouts or a wonderful cheese plate - lunch or dinner. Great selection of beers and house... More
