The food is absolutely wonderful. Husband and wife team up for a gastronomic experience. Really neat wine list - well thought out a reasonable prices. Will be back soon

at the risk of sounding like a food snob, I have been to Tuscany several times and have had a chance to sample very authentic excellent quality food there. The food from Osteria Pane e Salute is just so excellent and reminiscent of Tuscany. I also love the farm to table emphasis and the very interesting and delicious wines made... More

We arrived for our 7:00PM reservation about 18-20 minutes early. The hostess, who turned out to also be our waitress and the owner, looks at us and says: " Oh, you're early, and because of that it will take longer to prepare your dinner." WHAT? Anyway, we said that we would sit and have some wine while waiting. She brought... More

One of our favorite restaurants. Deirdre and Caleb make the dining experience just like in Italy. The table was ours for the night. Deirdre recommended perfect wine pairings. Perfect meal. If you are a foodie, make a reservation now!

The meal we had was good and clearly this restaurant prides itself on taking the time and trouble to be different and to provide a varied 4 course menu with the emphasis very much on Italian cuisine. They deserve an a for initiative but perhaps b++ for the execution. Service takes some time between courses which is to be understood... More

A good dining experience but nothing great. Given the reviews, we expected more. The home made bread was very good. I had a mushroom on polenta app. The polenta was extremely over salted which really ruined the dish. I also had what was described as roasted salmon. The portion size was very small and it appeared to be poached. It... More

This is a unique and exceptional dining experience if you are lucky enough to get a reservation. One party is seated every half hour all evening, in a fairly small, eccentrically decorated dining room. From there we highly recommend you get wine pairings with each course and savor the amazing tastes and combinations the chef prepares! This is our go-to... More

Hostess Deirdre Heekin and Chef Caleb Barber are the wonderful owners of this wonderful restaurant. They also make wine, write books, farm, and pursue many other activities. They are a wonder. With few tables, and only one seating per night, make your reservations a month in advance. Then enjoy ala carte or a prix fixe that includes four courses--appetizer, primi,... More

We ate here last nite and had the most amazing meal. Booked ages ago having researched on TripAdvisor and the result was a superbly balanced meal freshly cooked and with the best local produce. The intimate restaurant atmosphere is just right, the service great fun and a very wide and different wine list. It's so good to go to a... More

Richard P's observation is WRONG. osteria pane e salute (the best restaurant in Woodstock!) is STILL OPEN--though, for the moment, they're serving on Friday and Saturday nights only. Owners Caleb Barber and Deirdre Heekin also have a farm and vineyard and are harvesting grapes and making wine. As a result, they're closing the osteria on Thursday and Sunday evenings (September-October)... More
