Bentley's has a great location and an eclectic dining room with fun nooks and different furnishings. We went for brunch on Sunday. It was not packed - we were seated right away. But for some reason, it took a long time for anyone on the waitstaff to acknowledge us. The waitress finally arrived, with no apology or explanation, and quickly... more

This restaurant doesn't have to try as hard as others, due to its excellent placement dead center of this adorable tourist town. Consequently, Bentley's has gone down hill the past few years, especially since they took over the ice cream shop that used to sit on the northern end of the space. The sandwiches and salads are the best bet.... more

Last week we had dinner on a Tuesday during the off-season. As soon as we entered the server and bartender made us feel very welcome. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful it was such a pleasure to dine there. She did not rush us at all even though the dining room was occupied with only one more table of... more

A good spot to drop by for a quick lunch or dinner consisting primarily of well-prepared pub fare, local brews, and wine. A casual (and far less expensive) alternative to the nearby Woodstock Inn, this is a terrific dining option and right in the middle of Woodstock and the shops and galleries that reside there. more

We went to Bentleys at about 8pm for dinner. The hostess looked at her watch about 3 times before what seemed like reluctantly seating us. The server seemed put out to take our order. The food was good but $40 for nachos, a salad, and one beer was a little much. I think we will skip next time. more

My wife and I had both lunch and later dinner here. Lunch was fine - we both had salad and had no problems, fast service and it was a good salad. The butter provided to go with the bread was superb - locally produced I imagine. Based on this experience, we decided we would go back for dinner as it... more

There are very few choices in Woodstock that are in walking distance of the downtown area. This is in the center of town, and the inside of the building is interesting. It reminds me of a saloon from the 1800s. We were there in the middle of foliage season, and they had a special menu for this time of the... more

It was late in the evening (by Vermont standards). Other restaurants were too expensive, shut or slops. Bentleys was a sophisticated brasserie with excellent ambience, and friendly staff. The main courses were brilliant and modestly priced; the beer out of this word and the 'smallest sundae in the world' (their term) - wonderful. I wish this bar/restaurant was near where... more

Woodstock rolls up its sidewalks early, and after 8pm I found it very difficult to find anyware open for a simple dinner. I was reluctant to go to Bentley's, as I remember a tasteless lunch there a few years back. However, it was busy (location, location, location) and the customers seemed to be having a nice time. They had $4 beers on... more
