Great place for Families

The White House cottage is a snack shack along Route 4 in Vermont, right along the OttauQueechee river. Don't try to say it, you may sprain your tongue. The food is mostly fried seafood, all really good. The portions are pretty mammoth, so plan on sharing and alwAys get the "small". After... read more

I have eaten at White Cottage many times in past few years. I ordered the clam basket and a single order of clams. There were only 8 clams and only 4 had bellies. I asked staff person if this was all you get. I was told it is a 4oz portion. I was given a few more clams but it... More

We stopped at the White Cottage Snack Bar while we were heading east into Woodstock. It's a very unassuming place and the food we had took us by surprise. We first lunched on freshly grilled hamburgers with the works. You can tell they take care in making their sandwiches. The buns were fresh and warm. The tomatoes were sweet and... More

We love stopping at the white cottage snack bar on our frequent trips across new england. They have a great location next to the river with picnic tables outside right next to the water. The food is what you'd expect for a burger shack. Reasonably priced, cooked to order. It makes for a great rest stop and a friendly place... More

I have been going to The White Cottage for a number of summers. It is clean, the food is great, service with a smile, and a great family atmosphere. I dare say, I will go here over a dozen times this season.

I love this place and miss it when it's closed in the Winter. Everything from the homemade soups to the burgers are very good and we enjoy stopping here on the way to our condo in Killington. The owner should open something year round. Our whole family loves it and that's a hard thing to make happen! Try the burgers,... More

This is our go-to place when we don't feel like cooking in the summer. Wish it were open all year. Great for burgers, fish and chips and ice creams. It's fun to eat outside in the gondola seats overlooking the river.

Perfect for a summer evening. Tons of delicious ice cream choices. Take your ice cream outside and sit in one of the swings or dip your feet in the water. Old fashioned, perfect fun.

Great for burgers, lobster rolls, clam strips, ice cream, you name it. On a nice summer evening the tables along the river are a very enjoyable spot to enjoy your meal.
