This is a memorable small friendly restaurant in downtown Woodstock, Vermont. The four of us got seated just before the arrival of a bus-load of people, so the place was packed. But it was quiet and service was efficient and friendly. I ordered the "mile-high apple pie" as my lunch entree, shared a sandwich and of course shared my apple... more

I can't speak for the cafe--we never visited, but the ice cream this place produces is some of the best I had--and I sampled over 18 shops across Vermont, Maine, Mass and New Hampshire. It's rich, creamy, and fresh. It's traditional--not exotic, so don't expect unusual flavors of other gourmet shops. The waffle cones are crisp and made on the... more

My husband doesn't tend to remember places by the meals, but I do. With the Mountain Creamery, he raved about the breakfast the entire trip. He rates their breakfast as the "Best Breakfast Ever". I thought the breakfast was good too, although I'm not a breakfast person. The eggs were very fluffy and you could tell fresh from the farm.... more

Don't miss this friendly neighborhood place for great breakfasts. They have all the usual breakfast items plus delicious homemade jam, which you can buy a jar of to take home. Downstairs is an ice-cream shop for later in the day when you need a little pick-me-up: the cones are $5 but the largest I've ever seen! more

The food here was terrific. Much of the meat and vegetables are produced locally, and the ice cream is made there. Portions were very large, especially the desserts, so the two of us shared one. I had the BBQ beef brisket sandwich: it was meat on a bun, served with a side (choices included potato chips, applesauce, and cottage cheese).... more

Interesting menu choices including the specials.(a side dish of sauteed baby kale and garlic scapes) Local food is featured including some apparently being grown by the owner. We liked everything we ordered and appreciated the explanations of the menu. It's a casual place with more than casual attention to the food. We thought the service was fast and friendly. more

Before going to Woodstock, Vt last week I checked restaurant reviews as I always do on tripadvisor. The Mountain Creamery had such mixed reviews I took a chance hoping to have a good experience but that wasn't the case. When we entered the restaurant we were not acknowledged by the 2 waitresses at all although only one other customer was... more

Went in to the second floor and was told to go outside and wait downstairs in the basement. Twenty minutes later we were retrieved by the waitress at 11:15 AM. We ordered eggs. My daughter ordered soup but we were told it wasn't available until 11:30...but it WAS available downstairs. So, I left my family to go get the soup... more

My wife and I spent several days in Woodstock and had heard about the Mountain Creamery, but didn't know about how good it was. We had lunch with me just getting apple pie for lunch, with my wife having a salad and pie. Why let regular food get in the way? The pie was wonderful and I hated to finish... more
