Time was, my impression was that the Woodstock Inn had a pretty stodgy menu, and we gave it a miss. But no more -- a fine lunch last year in the Red Rooster gave us great incentive to try the Richardson Tavern, which we did on a recent Sunday evening. It was, in a word, perfect. Pleasant surroundings, great service,... More

Had to meet in the Tavern for a business meeting. Service was excellent and food was good. The restaurant in the Inn is better for a good dinner, but the Tavern is good in a pinch.

The Tavern at The Woodstock Inn is one of the best in America as a destination place to eat. One of two choices to dine if staying on the Inn Property. If visiting Woodstock Vermont you can dine at several decent places, but only two of the best around the State. The Prince and The Pauper is the only place... More

This is very nice place to eat in Woodstock. Always good food and priced well. The service is not hurried and the atmosphere is casual.

This is one of two restaurants in the Woodstock Inn, a fancy-schmancy resorty kind of place. This is the casual downscale one. So, it's all wood paneling and has a few sofas you can sit on as well as the tables. Also outside seating. Lots of kids there, plus (I guess) people who didn't want to get dressed up for... More

Spent a long day out of the Inn so decided to stay in for dinner and just relax. Casual atmosphere. Enjoyed our drinks and our food. Service was a bit slow but, we were not in a hurry so sat and relaxed. Good choice after a long day.

My husband, another couple, and I dined here after not being able to get into another local restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised at our dining experience at the Tavern. The staff was knowledgable and attentive and our meal was great. My husband and others in the party especially enjoyed the oysters, which were extremely fresh and perfectly prepared.

Excellent dinner. The only thing I question is why they choose to serve pickles to dip into the cheese fondue. Kind of strange. Otherwise, all was terrific.

Came here after dinner and had a cheese plate, which everyone in the group loved. Staff was helpful and attentive, but the ambiance of the venue was really the selling point. I intend to go back during the day to have a beer on the porch.
