The Chef and Owner, David was the head chef at the Quechee Club for years before starting his own business. His gourmet menu can satisfy any epicurean! The drink menu is inventive and delicious. I have never had better mojitos. This is the best place to eat and drink in Woodstock and the surrounding areas and the only place we... More

The good folks, Bob and Sue, at The Canterbury House B&B recommended Melaza and we are glad they did. We sat on the bar side which was very friendly and comfortable. All the food was delicious. I tried the pork shank which was incredibly tender and flavorful. My wife's ribeye was one of the best she has had. All the... More

My husband suggested that we try Melaza's but I was not sure that I wanted to go to a carbibean restaraunt in ski country. The Inn we stayed, ther Ardmore, highly recommended it as well. Well I am so glad that we went there . It was fabulous. It was the best dinner we had during our stay. The staff... More

My family and I went to Melaza once before and we forgot how wonderful the food really was. Upon returning, we were thoroughly impressed. All four of our meals were excellent; the flavor of each dish was wonderful. We will definitely be returning again the next time we visit Woodstock.

The food is inspired and tasy, and the service was very attentive. Good mojitos, too! We sat in the bar area, which was cozy and comfortable, but the main space and, particularly, the upstairs seem very nice as well.

My wife and I loved this place so much after one dinner here early in a week's stay that we returned a couple days later for a similar wonderful experience. We immediately loved the warm colors of the decor. The food was awesome. If the service was a bit slower than average it was only because all dishes are obviously... More

Dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. Service was efficient and friendly. Very accommodating --sampling of beer when I was undecided. Coconut shrimp starter yummy. Entrees very nice presentation and delicious--pork shank and arroz con pollo both hits. No room for dessert but they looked good.

The food was great but the service was odd. Everyone was very nice but I guess I can give examples. There were 4 of us and we finished our bread fairly quickly and asked for more. The server came back with 2 pieces for 4 of us. We shared an appetizer and there was a sauce. There was barely enough... More

To find a cozy restaurant is one of the best things when you are visiting a small town; when the weather is cold and there is not much to do … but to find a cozy and wonderful Latin restaurant was just a marvelous surprise. We went to Woodstock for the weekend and we have such an amazing meal at... More

We have a NYE tradition of getting together with another couple, and this year they picked this restaurant for our celebratory dinner. It was nice to find a place that allowed you to order from their regular menu, rather than having a fixed menu & price due to the popularity of that particular night. (We also ate early, so no...
