Who would have thought the best egg salad I have ever had would be in woodstock! Great sandwiches and selection! If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, I definitely recommend this place!

The village butcher has the best fresh beef and chicken. It is cut to order and the quality is better than whole foods. Linda also makes homemade chili and great sandwiches. The cheeseburger pie and homemade blueberry pie are also excellent

The Village butcher is exactly what I pictured- small, historical-looking store, full of fantastic (and local) finds. Order a great sandwich to eat while enjoying the sunshine on the Green, or get something fresh to take home and cook that evening. Don't see something you want? Ask them-they will find it and have it for you on your next visit!

I live in Woodstock and when I want a truly superior cut of meat I go to the Village Butcher. The shop offers other things other than meat, but most of my experience is with the meat. George and his staff are about as helpful as they can be.

On a recent trip to Woodstock, we had sandwiches twice from the Village Butcher, which are made with high-quality ingredients and prepared with generous quantities of meat and cheese on nice bread. It's a bit of tight space so you may want to take your sandwiches to go. It's not a cheap deli, but you get fresh ingredients, and you're... More

We were just window-shopping when we came to this shop. The selection of cheeses on display got us quite excited so we went inside. The choices available were fantastic with everything looking very mouthwatering. We eventually settled for one cheese which was utterly delicious. It was quite expensive, but we felt that the price was justified. Our only regret was that,... More

We were looking for a quick lunch stop before touring the countryside and Village Butcher was recommended by our motel. There is no indoor seating and only sparse outdoor seating so be prepared to grab and go. We enjoyed our Italian subs. Generous portions and fresh ingredients. They also carry a substantial selection of local products. I wish we had... More

The line to order food at lunch extended out the door so we knew it had to be good. When the line died down we ventured back. It was still busy and somewhat chaotic but we were served rather quickly. We ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was delicious. The only part that was difficult was figuring out how to... More

Very high prices compared to other area shoppes. But excellent homemade treats at the front counter. Couldn't resist a huge and delicious brownie for $1.95. But caveat emptor, you can get sandwiches, cheese and other VT goodies for much less if you pay attention. Don't get sucked in by the Woodstock location.
