Stopped here for lunch on Gate 1 tour. Guide told us about this place. Most of us ordered sandwiches here. Freshly made to order, very reasonably priced and delicious. After lunch, we ordered 2 more for dinner since we could not get reservation at Trapp lodge for dinner.

We were looking for something light and portable for lunch. We came upon Teh Village Butcher. They have great sandwiches made to order and nice salads for lunch or for a picnic. There tables and chairs to eat your meal outside their door. Great for people watching.

Isn't it charming that in a town like Woodstock Vermont one can get a cup of soup and eat it at two chairs and a table on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.

We stopped by The Village Butcher for a quick lunch. There are 3 small tables outside and a small bench. I had the roast beef (made in house) on rye with lettuce, tomato and horseradish...it was great. Very fresh ingredients and friendly counter people. My wife had turkey on rye and also enjoyed it very much...she too remarked on the... More

They offer freshly made sandwiches as well as some fresh meats. They have a freezer full of cut meats. But when we were there most of their business seems to be from the sandwiches. We order the special of the day which was a Italian Panini. It was a large sandwich and it was very good. There are a few... More

Not a tourist trap but good sandwich for about $6.00. Read about the Village Butcher on Tripadvisor. Also asked a store clerk her suggestion on where to get a good sandwich for lunch. Without missing a beat, she said The Village Butcher. Both sources were right. Not a sit down place, but a couple tables outside. Very fresh and tasty.... More

The village butcher is a small town gem with better than big city quality. The beef and chicken are some of the best any where we have ever been. It is all cut to order and the quality and service is something that you don't find very often in today's world. Amazing house roasted chickens some of the best chilli... More
