fabulous sandwiches

This is my favorite place for a sandwich in Woodstock. They are made fresh right in front of you from their deli choices. My one and only favorite (because why should I try anything else) is the Turkey BLT on pumpernickel. The bread is soooooo fresh and it's a fat sandwich. They also have lots... read more

Found this place by walking around Woodstock and went in to order some sandwiches and bring back to our room. We were loving every bite !! This place is wonderful. We then read the reviews and realized that a lot of other people have already found this place and love it as well. It is our favorite place to go... More

If you don't want to eat in a restaurant downtown your best bet, hands down, is Village Butcher. The owners are great people, staff is too! Sandwiches are made to order and loaded with top quality: freshest bread, meats, cheeses. Can't go wrong. By the way, they are also an AMAZING butcher. Meats and poultry top quality.

As soon as you walk in you can smell how good the food is. I often have soup for lunch and they had a really good variety. If I had one complaint, it's that there was no seating inside and it was a little too cold to sit outside.

Stopped here for lunch on Gate 1 tour. Guide told us about this place. Most of us ordered sandwiches here. Freshly made to order, very reasonably priced and delicious. After lunch, we ordered 2 more for dinner since we could not get reservation at Trapp lodge for dinner.

We were looking for something light and portable for lunch. We came upon Teh Village Butcher. They have great sandwiches made to order and nice salads for lunch or for a picnic. There tables and chairs to eat your meal outside their door. Great for people watching.

Isn't it charming that in a town like Woodstock Vermont one can get a cup of soup and eat it at two chairs and a table on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.

We stopped by The Village Butcher for a quick lunch. There are 3 small tables outside and a small bench. I had the roast beef (made in house) on rye with lettuce, tomato and horseradish...it was great. Very fresh ingredients and friendly counter people. My wife had turkey on rye and also enjoyed it very much...she too remarked on the... More
