I thought this place was just OK. The ambience is 60's ish and dated. Does not have the Vermont quaint look. Couches and no real decor. Food was good, but not great. Actually for the prices they charge it should have been better. I had the veal chop which was just OK. My wife had the fish special that was... More

Not normally being someone who likes hotel restaurants (irrational I know), we really quite liked Red Rooster. Although we were placed at a table near the kitchen entrance/exit - well someone has to be there, although not necessarily when there are other vacant tables - the quality of the cooking was excellent. And a special credit for the woman who... More

This was our 2nd visit to the Red Rooster at the Woodstock Inn. Our experience was very nice. We were promptly seated and had a nice view of the interior courtyard. Our service was prompt and attentive. The entire staff was very nice. The atmosphere was casual elegance which is what we were in the mood for. The food was... More

The Red Roster was satisfactory for breakfast but it feels like a breakfast spot, or perhaps an Ok place for lunch. It does not have "ambiance" for dinner at all.

The buffet was in this restaurant and it was top notch. All kinds of choices, even gluten free pancakes. We had lunch and dinner there a few times too and everything was very good. They had Gluten free bread for my veggie burger too. The salad and veggies from their own garden were so fresh and delicious, it made a... More

The hostess or host is friendly, smiling, attentive. A conversation is easy to carry on with your table mates as there is plenty of room between tables. Food is very good and portions are large. You are not rushed to eat and make room for the next party. The bar next to the Rooster is lively, big, could be noisy,... More

Service and food at the Red Rooster was enjoyable and delish. The salmon dinner was perfectly cooked. The roasted pumpkin seeds was difficult to eat in the butternut squash soup. I think I would have enjoyed it with the seeds shelled.

Food typical over filled plates, but food is average to fair, nothing wrong but like the hotel the cuisine is stuck in the 1980's - seems to be a theme here. Glad we only ate in this restaurant for one night, 2 nights would be 1 too many. Not particularly great value.

We wanted a nice sit down lunch in a very crowded tourist destination and we received every thing we were hoping. The food was delicious and seasonally selected. Our service was the best and we even had management refilling water glasses. Everyone worked so we could have a great lunch from appetizer to desserts (that were split).

Had drinks for several hours waiting for our dinner reservations. I had two glasses of wine and I could have been in any city in the world. Nothing special or different from any bar.
