Probably the nicest restaurant in town

The restaurant itself was very nice, the menu selection was varied and I was torn between ordering a few different things. I ended up getting the gnocchi appetizer, and the sirloin entree. The appetizer was average, the gnocchi itself was homemade and had it not been slightly overcooked, I think... read more

Super friendly service, food was out very quickly, quantity was great, and kids were very welcomed. Our meals were included in the special we had with the hotel, but I found the prices to be very reasonable.

We ate here fir two breakfasts and can't say enough about how wonderful it is to have the fresh, local foods on the menu. I am not a sausage lover, but had to try the "local links" and they were delicious. The fruit plate was fabulous with the map,e citrus yogurt....and a platter-full (easily for two or three to share!).... More

The restaurant itself is very nice. The staff was pleasant. I had the lobster bisque - if you're looking for lobster stop looking it's not there not even a piece. To management's credit they took it off the bill. Here's the thing it tasted very good but I would never call it lobster bisque, I don't know what I would... More

The main dining room at the Inn manages to go from buffet breakfast to fine dining without missing a beat. Lovely accommodating, professional staff. American cuisine featuring a wide range of options with something for everyone. I had an amazing surprisingly tender tasty veal chop (leap of faith and it paid off). The little bar is right in front of... More

Excellent Fare in a quaint, New England Inn. Sit by the fire in oversized, comfortable chairs and enjoy an excellent meal and a great atmosphere. The service was great and everyone in the Inn was very nice. The restaurant is located deep within the Inn, but is open to the public and worth the visit. There is a large fireplace... More

You're a bit of a captive audience when you stay at The Woodstock Inn and the breakfast is typical of hotel breakfasts. We had the buffet one morning and ordered off the menu the next. The quality is fine -- but the menu isn't creative and you can do better by taking a short walk into town.

I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Red Rooster last weekend with my 2 daughter in laws. We dined before our Woodstock Inn Spa appointments and were very pleased with the menu selections, drink menu and atmosphere. The Woodstock Inn tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich, tuna wrap and roasted vegetable brushetta and salad were excellent. Service was prompt, however... More

The food here looks nice on the plate but, they like to serve it cold. Servers are nice, but I think the kitchen is the problem. We had soup and grilled cheese one day, the bread was toasted, the cheese was not melted and the soup was barely warm.

The Red Rooster is in the beautiful Woodstock Inn. Please don't miss this on your visit. We had lunch a the Red Rooster. The service staff is very nice although we felt like the server should have been more knowledgeable about the menu preparations and the wines. The lobster roll was good but not great. I liked that they didn't... More
