We had a mediocre dinner in this restaurant and actually would have forgotten it, by the time, we walked out. Strange portions lead to very hungry and later on very much poorer guests, we would recommand to stay away unless you enjoy being cheated. What was worth, we went for a drink and after some time returned walking passed this... More

This is a really special restaurant and the whole meal was lovely from start to finish. The setting is beautiful and the 12 courses for €12 is a really good way to try lots of different things. We had 5 dishes between two and were completely stuffed, so for fine dining it is very reasonable. The staff were very friendly... More

We had our Family Reunion dinner here, with Pernilla and Anton (I believe his name is). The experience was fabulous. Not only did our hostess have a wonderful sense of humour, she also provided us with an experience I will never forget. Each dish was described to us. When the dishes were brought to us, like a game, I tried... More

Always visit El Castillo when we are in the area. That evening came last night 8.10. We are never disappointed, from the wonderful Pernilla style welcome; to the unique and beautifully presented food; in a superb setting; all backed by Anton who is a warm and friendly character. Thank you to each and everyone of you who work in El... More

Having eaten in most of the restaurants in benahavis over the years, el castillo is definitely the best food, atmosphere, service and value for money. The menu is an inventive mix of Spanish and Scandinavian cuisine- the blinis and wild boar are incredible. Love everything about this restaurant and I'm definitely not easy to please....

We hed a superb dinner with many new food experiences. This one of the few restaurants in Benahavis that have a international cousine. The Salmon is perfectly smooked. The soup really taste what home made. All topclass. Everyone who knows about cooking will put this restaurant in top. Than you, we will be back!

El Castillo is a fabulous restaurant experience and the hostess, Pernilla, is warm, exuberant and dedicated to her restaurant. The food is just wonderful, and the courtyard makes for a magical setting. We have visited many times before, but this year decided to take our children, and two more families. In total we were 13. Pernilla and her staff handled... More

Please don't listen to Jim B(wrote the bad review) this place is an absolute wonder piece! The charismatic owner Pernilla steals the show with her exuberance and control whilst delivering a well executed portray of " Spanish/Scandinavian" infused dishes. If I had a criticism it was readily rectified by Pernilla (meat balls lol) and the dish anyway (wild boar) was sublime!!!!all in... Most of the restaurants in Benahavis were full except this one, so we kind of accepted this, now we know why it was not full. The setting is similar to most restaurants in this beautiful village, thought they seem to consider themselves "fine dining" yet we set under an old beer-publicity-umbrella and then charged you top Euro for very little... I am sorry to hear that you did not like the food. We have two international experienced chefs who cook freshly delivered local products. No microwave, no frying etc. All cooked at customers order. That is Fine Dining. The dishies are unique, Spanish products cooked in a Scandinavian way. You do not find many restaurants doing this kind of cooking... More
