A hidden gem

We loved our lunch here: a warm welcome from the family owners was followed by an unfussy, delicious, good value meal. Don't be put off by its proximity to the railway line as there's only one slow train per hour, and that's at peak times. As a previous reviewer commented, don't judge a book by its... read more

As most of the reviews say this place serves good, fresh Andalusian food. It is family run and has no bones about it. The price is great for the good, fresh and traditional food you are going to get along with unpretentious wine and good service. A relaxing a typical spanish bar. Will be back soon with the family

We called at this restaurant after reading the reviews, at first I was doubtful we were at the right place. We ordered a couple of drinks and were given an anchovy tapas, which was very good and nicely presented, we decided to have a look at the food that was being served which looked good, we had a look at the... I have to right a new revue for this bar. It for sure does the best food. If you are going to visit the caminito del Ray please don't forget to turn right before u get to bermejo and it's about 200yards on ur left and the train station on the right

Home made Spanish food, the best I have had in Spain. I visit quite often. For sure this is a 5 star bar and highly recommended. If you ever visit El chorro call in.

El Rancho is not easy to find, it is off the main Alora-El chorro road in Las mellizas. It is a Venta, and as such offers no frills in decor. Closed on Mondays. When you do find it, you can enjoy typically Spanish country food, The menu is not overly large but there is plenty to choose from, and offers... More

if you are in the alora region check out El Rancho in Las Mellissas(opposite the railway station) It is a modest bar but the owner is a brilliant chef. The pil pil prawns and the rosado a la plancha would not disgrace a fine dining establishment. No frills, no draught only bottled beer , very quaffable wine make this bar... More
