Only 1 waitress at Jenny's on the house 4th of July. We seemed to be a bother when we asked about baked goods, but she rattled them off and was happy we made a quick decision. The blueberry scone was very undercooked, the cherry pie was flat. No refills on coffee. The waitress only returned to give us the check... More

There were 6 in our group. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The breakfast burrito was outstanding. I love sausage and their Sausage was one of the best I've had. Jenny actually served us. It's located in the old mason lodge -- it's always fun to be in a historic building.

Jennys is only open for breakfast & lunch. The portions and selections were amazing. We had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was fantastic. The value for the food for a PCT hiker is great! It was like having 2 meals in one! Thanks!

Two friends and I stopped by Jenny's Cafe after a weekend of fishing near Big Pine. My family and I have eaten breakfast here on a couple of occasions and found the food good, especially the coffee. Well, we arrived on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. Menus, water and coffee were delivered quickly, as was the food we... More

Jenny's is our current favorite lunch stop on US 395 between LA and Mammoth. They serve possibly the best BLT in the eastern Sierra. Grilled ham and cheese had hunks of ham cut off a real ham, not thin-sliced packaged ham. Everything home cooked and yummy. Friendly staff full of local knowledge. Nothing fancy here, but lots of fun.

My wife, daughter and I recently stopped in Jenny's Cafe on the way home from Mammoth and had a terrific meal, some nice conversation with the owner and even learned a bit of history about the building too (it's the home of the local Freemasons), while we had a tasty lunch in a quaint and authentic place that didn't at... We travel US 395 more often than we would like but the one high point is stopping in Independence to have a meal at jenny's. Breakfasts have been very good, lunch is good just whatever your order (I'm a burger guy but love her fish sandwich) and watch for the dinner specials. Her chicken dinner is really tasty. Portions are... More

I wanted to grab a coffee and something to eat to go, so I popped into Jenny's just before 1 PM on a Sunday. The sign said they were open until 2. I told the waitress I needed to order to-go and asked to see a menu and was given one, on which was listed a vanilla cappucino. When I... More

We have been here before, ordered hamburgers and they were quite good. This time we went for the open face turkey and the open face roast beef sandwiches. That was a mistake. My wife could not eat much of the turkey because it was hard and very over cooked. My beef only resembled beef and was very lacking of flavor.... More

About the only choice in Independence, Ca. Nice menu, friendly staff, good food. Ate breakfast there and it was very good. Pricey, spent $20 with tip for eggs, bacon, home fries, toast and coffee.
