Non-chain dining options in Manassas are limited. We like to dine in old town, and Carmello's is one of several pretty nice places in old town Manassas. We've been a couple of times, found it pretty good, but not so good that we've gone repeatedly. more
the server seemed unable to describe menu items. we were not made aware of the specials until after we got our food. the food was not any better than what you would get a chain italian place. the portugueze chicken was overcooked and cost $26. the tortellini dish was nothing special. the salad was wilted. the lobster bisque was good.... more
Food is okay but needs focus. Carmello's sounds Italian but add Portugal(?) - an after thought (?) This is like alot of Italian restaurants owned and run by Greeks ( in this case Portuguese). Italian but not - why not just Mediterrean - Good food so why are they hiding. Prices are way too high. This is a DC wanna... more
This is a wonderful restaurant with nice comfortable ambiance, WONDERFUL food, pleasant waitstaff that when combined make for most pleasurable evening of dining. more
Carmello's restaurant in Old Town Manassas is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. As local residents of Manassas we are able to enjoy the incredible food, the outstanding service and quiet atmosphere. As mentioned earlier. many of the staff has been there for many years. We have never been disappointed with our meals, and the dessert cart is to die... more
Great if you like shellfish and tomato sauce. My chicken parmesan was rubbery and tasteless. more
Just ate dinner here tonight with a client and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The pace of the service was just right to carry on good conversation without being continuously interrupted by wait staff. Good food, yes. Service is relaxed and friendly, if a bit slow. The typical "Vinho Verde" went well with our food and wasn't too expensive. Nice, cozy place in Old Town Manassas. more
I visited Carmello's last weekend and as always was warmly welcomed by servers and ownership. The food and atmosphere are consistently enjoyable and there's always great music. Yet another great experience! more
