Staying in Sliema this October went over to Bugibba to Quanderos and found it is no more asked after Ted and found out that he had lost his wife and had sold up and gone "home" very sad to hear that , if this restaurant had been taken over it was all closed up so it hasn't lasted long.

I have reviewed this restaurant before as brilliant, called in this holiday to find that it had changed hands. Ordered fish and chips, waited 45 minutes, only two other people eating and they waited ages, eventually received two frozen fish rolls? frozen chips, half a plate of salad with onions, the chef was boasting that he was the chef, he... this fantastic restaurants chef/ owner ted retired just over 3 weeks ago. Now completely new staff. Sadly this has resulted in a major change and not for the better. Waited nearly 40 mins for fish and chips which were both frozen and not fresh. Also had pie and mash. Not homemade any more. Qawra has lost its best place to... More

Had the traditional fish and chips with minted mushy peas got to say it was excellent, my wife tried the chicken and vegetable pie and also commented on how good it was. All pies are home made and all meals are cooked fresh after you order, well worth a visit.

Ted and family provide fantastic fish and chips, beautiful home made pies and delicious Sunday lunches, we will be eating there most of our June holidays.

Was staying down the road and saw what I thought was just another cafe, went in for breakfast and had a pleasant surprise, food tasted home cooked ( which it was) clean and friendly. They also do Fish & Chips and Sunday lunch, prices reasonable would be happy to recommend to anybody.
