After an appalling meal at The Chef, I was recommended Bert's Place by a shop owner in the Craft Village (Ta Q'uali). It felt like a personal invite into a traditional maltese family restaurant. We were made to feel instantly welcome, despite a large table of locals in full swing. The attention to detail is perfect- all the food is... More

You can't enjoy a picturesque view at Ta' Bertu. But it's a great place to make new friends and to have a nice quiet chat with friends over a deliciously prepared meal - with iconic Maltese dishes prepared to a turn. I normally only eat rabbit- whether stewed or fried - when it is prepared by my wife, Vicky. But... More

As I am allergic to Msg ( food preservatives) I find it very difficult to eat in a restaurant. However the owner Bertu made us feel at home immediately. We were given a maltese platter (gratis) which had a good presentation and excellent taste. I had fried rabbit which was also excellent. The red wine was really good. Than i... More

We booked late for Ta Bertu after reading the rave reviews on TA and were lucky that Albert was able to accommodate us. As we were staying in Bugibba we walked over along the seafront - a pleasant 20 minutes. Albert was very welcoming and warm, the restaurant is small and cosy and the food was wonderful. The "Maltese platter"... More

I had some very fussy overseas friends of mine who wanted to try typical Maltese dishes, and Albert looked after us as if he was catering for us at home!

We were recommended Ta' Bertu by friends of ours and were very pleased we tried it. Imagine walking into someone's front room to sit and have dinner with them. Imagine your host comes out from the kitchen and lets you choose from the things he's got cooking away. Imagine you get a delicious platter of meats, cheese, tomatoes, pickled veg... More

My boyfriend found this restaurant to take me for my birthday while visiting Malta. The restaurant itself is not huge but it feels very homely. We ordered our drinks, and then shortly after our starter and mains. While we were waiting for our food the chef, who owns the restaurant brought us out a maltese platter (which was free of... More
