In the beautiful surroundings of Montefalco, il Coccorone is a real must for trying the real local food and wines and taste some of the best meat you'll ever have! Service is excellent too and price/quality ratio is extremely good..

I've just read all the three star reviews for this restaurant and can't believe they're talking about the same place! We ate there a couple of nights ago and the welcome couldn't have been friendlier, the (complimentary) Prosecco was fresh n bubbly, the wine list held the vintages (though that could have been changed), portions were generous, the Bistecca Fiorentina... An incredible lunch at this great restaurant in Monte Falco. We had the Chianina which is the locally reared beef. It was cooked rare to perfection over a wood fire. The experience of the chef presenting us with the uncooked meat before offering us eight types of salt was great theatre. English menus make it easy for tourists to navigate... More

Had a wonderful lunch, would recommend the Tagliatelle with White Truffle (only ordered 1gm as had no idea, but 2gm,s would suffice) couldn't go wrong with whatever's on special as well. Very authentic restaurant exactly what you want from a trip to Umbria.

We've been here several times and every visit is a threat! The restaurant is nicely decorated and cosy. The kitchen brings local food on a very high level. Try the baccala with raisin or the gnocchi with sagrantino sauce. For secondo my first choice is always the Chianina T-bone steak. Perfectly grilled on charcoal. The best steak you'll ever taste!... This is always a good place to eat - slightly theatrical in presentation but only adds to the experience. Quite disappointed that tap water is not available but only an irritation. Being English - we do rather like to have all empty plates taken together as it seems a little rushed to take some away before everyone if finished. Again... More

We finally had lunch at this restaurant which we have walked past on many occasions. What a delight. We sat outside in the courtyard with our antipasti, old fashioned anchovies and cheeses and sagrantino jelly. We both chose homemade pasta as our main course, paparadelle sagrantino and white truffle tagliatelle which was weighed and grated at the table. Those pasta... More

This is a favorite for every visit to Montefalco. Reservations a must, especially if you want to sit on their small patio. The food has always been been fantastic, and shows no sign of slacking off. Risotto with Sagrantino is amazing (a BIG dish), but the pasta with funghi (1st item on the primo menu) is also great. If you... More
