Beef to remember

We ate lunch. At the recommendation of the waiter we ordered the T Bone for 2. It was beautiful meat, from grass fed Chianina cattle and cooked on a wood fired grill washed down with a Montefalco Rosso. It was delicious - strange it might sound but the only criticism was that there was too much of... read more

We last came to this restaurant 6 years ago and it was still as good as we had remembered it.Very friendly service, good quality food and full of Italians rather than tourists.Later, walking around Montefalco we saw other restaurants were mostly empty, this one was full....I think that says it all.Book ahead if you can and you'll be sure to get... We've been coming to this place for the last several years for their delicious steaks. They grill them on an open fire pit. They don't cut the steak until you order it. They show it to you first to make sure you like it. They cook it pretty rare, which is good by me, but be warned. My wife likes... More

This elegant restaurant speciality is beef. We ordered their special Umbrian steak T-bone and they cut it and show it to you before they grill it on an open wood burning grill. They bring it to the table with about 8 different salts and yiu choice what yiu want on your steak. It was fantastic. The sauage is also great.... More

Unbelievable. Their specialty is local beef, and it was FABULOUS ! Cooked perfectly & accompanied by a red wine sauce & grilled peppers. My wife had delicious pappardelle in a red wine sauce and wild mushrooms. The accompanying local sagrantino wine is very good. For a change we ordered desert to share and our eyes popped when the spectacular and... More

Winter evening, week day, a romantic evening in Montefalco to enjoy a proper dinner with an excellent bottle of sagrantino. Not many good bottles left in the restaurants around Montefalco. Yes, good wine for sure, but what if you are looking fit that special bottle of that particular year? Coccorone was the perfect choice, apart from the excellent food and... More

Excellent service, good prices, fresh regional foods and of course great wines. We were greeted by a friendly staff, seated in a comfortable, classy room/table, and enjoyed a great variety of appetizers (of course with superb, local olive oil) - no rush, excellent attention to our needs and a satisfied clientele.

A great find! The staff were friendly and helpful. While well known for steak (which was wonderful), the homemade pasta is not to be missed. Plus, I had the best roasted artichokes. Bring your appetite.

We had been looking forward to eating at Ristorante Coccorone, since it has previously received high accolades. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, spotlessly clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer. However the food was slightly disappointing. The specialty of the house is the beef, and we were given the opportunity to choose our own steak. We chose... More
