Since Montaione was our nearest larger town with 2 so-called Supermercati, we went into town a few times during our 2-week stay in nearby Iano. We decided to have lunch here and was pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous views and serrenity of the Tuscan hills as our backdrop. If you like a crispy, thin-crust pizza, theirs is some of the... This is a great place to eat! Very good quality Tuscan food in a spotlessly clean, lovely environment. Try the tables outside watching the sun go down and the lights come on across all the little towns in the valley! Our waitress was fab! Very abrupt English, felt like we were being told off all the time which made us... More

Very traditional cuisine, service and price. The stuffed squid with tomato sauce is worth the visit. Views across the valley are very nice. Not a fan of the house wines, but a great selection of local chianti and some whites are sure to get you something you like.

Great views over the valley- delicious freshly cooked local food. Service was friendly and informal and the wine was great value for money. If it busy and you order a pizza - you may have a wait as the pizza oven only can get 3 pizzas in!

Visited with or 3 children (10,8,6) and made to feel very welcome. Had no booking on an August Wednesday evening, couldn't get a table with a view, but pleasant vaulted room inside. Mussels, clams, bruschetta, anchovies, pasta, prosciutto, pizza and swordfish, all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Washed down with good, reasonably priced house red. Sadly discovered this place too... More

Good atmosphere and family friendly. A good and varied menu, my Husband loves the mussels. You can watch them cooking the pizzas fresh in their pizza oven. Highly recommended.

We ate here twice during our stay in Montaione. It was very busy on both occasions, and as a result, the level of service suffered – it was slow on both occasions, slow to take our order and slow to bring food, and they ran out of chilled bottles of water. However, the food was good – I really like... More

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 3. On the first day we tried to get into this restaurant at around 8.30pm on a Sunday night and failed. Montaione is a very busy place around this time on a Sunday night. We went earlier the next day (6.15pm) and were seated straight away .The... More

A good dinner had by myself and wife. €40 tab bought us: warm octopus salad (nice, well seasoned), pizza bread (gratis on house, fantastic crisp bread seasoned with evoo an oregano), bottle of local Montaione Chianti (not best, but good), entrees of clam and mussel gnocchi and salmon farafalle (both generous and well seasoned), finished with Choco panna cotta and... My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick pizza on our way home after a nice day in San Gimignano. I think for just this it is a fine place to go - casual, nice view of the hills, and decent prices. But the service wasn't great, and the pizza was way too crispy and thin for our taste... More
