This restaurant has a great atmosphere where people draw on their place mats and the most imaginative ones adorn the walls. The staff are friendly and casually dressed which gives it a laid back feel. The portions are generous - we shared a starter and the meat dishes are very large but do save room for pudding - we had... More

No complaints here, the service was good and very friendly. The food was well cooked and ample. When we were there (end September) there were far more tourists than locals there. The dining room is a little primitive but this is a local, rustic sort of place, so that is OK. Parking is difficult.

Good local food and great atmosphere - if you want a fine dining experience with silver service then look elsewhere - but you will get good home cooked food here and is well worth a visit. Suggest book in advance as gets very busy.

1.You surely need to reserve in advance no matter what day of the week. 2. Skip lunch if you want to taste a range of the delicacies. 3. Portions are big so order carefully, share a couple of them. 4. Great starters- you can't go wrong with any of the selection. 5. Recommendation for main- Montaione beef stew is outstanding... More

This is a wonderful place. There were 9 of us and this was no challenge to them. the 7 adults had starters and then all 5 kids (some of the kids are adults!) had ice cream too. The bill was very reasonable. The food was stunning and the staff seemed to be delighted to have us there even though the... More

The chapels nearby are really lovely, take the time to visit them before going to the restaurant. The owner is the chef, preparing daily from in season veg and meat. Lovely cheese antipasto with walnuts and honey. I was there when some hunters came to eat ( they may supply the wild boar) and I went to ask them if... More

It was a great experience to sit among noisy, but not annoying, Italian families. Of course the restaurant can rely on a vast number of foreigners. Friendly service and you can use your placemat to make your own drawing, write comments, etc. Why 'whistling service'? Find out yourself....

Good food, nothing special but the price is right. Owner is a cheerful guy and the ladies work hard. Sitting among Italian families is noisy, but not annoying. Yes, even funny.

We visited this restaurant after being told 'it was one of the best places I have EVER eaten' so perhaps the goal posts were set a little high from the start. To be fair, the food was very good typical Tuscan style food in a very busy lively atmosphere where the waitresses and owner all seemed to be adding liveliness... More

This is a hugely popular place, full of locals most nights of the week. We had a great meal of pesto lasagne followed by roast pork. The lasagne was hot but fresh and tasted great, and the meat was tender and cooked superbly. The food and presentation is typical Tuscan, rough and ready. Service suffers on a busy night so... More
