Foods and service was 5 star. Our waitress was attentive, informative and friendly. Fried green tomatoes are an excellent starter, as is the balanced and decadent she crab soup. The shrimp and grits to die for and the crab Louie salad fresh and filling.

The food was excellent, the quality superb. The helpings were very generous, it is a little pricey but it depends on your budget. We had the chicken and waffles and the pastrami sandwich as we wanted a light supper. The portions were enormous so we took some of it back to the hotel. There was a really helpful manager who... We had decided to go to Tarrant's based on online recommendations that were then solidified by friends in Chester. The restaurant was crowded, but the noise level was low enough to hear my wife. I had a special (monk fish marsala) which was excellent. My wife had the Filet, in a mushroom marsala, which she enjoyed very much. The wine... More

We stopped at Tarrant's Cafe based on TripAdvisor reviews while traveling a long trip from Charleston to Washington DC. Our server, Montrece, was superb with her recommendations. Most memorable was the upside-down apple pie with candied walnuts (or was it pecans? -- whatever it was it was awesome). The place is apparently famous for its fish and seafood but we... More

It was an old apothecary-live in history inside while you dine. Italian, American, all kinds of cuisine . Eat at the old pharmacy bar or at tables in different rooms. Great service.

Great seafood, if you're in downtown Richmond, worth a trip. Tarrant's is in an old pharmacy store, the decor is great, an old world look and feel. If you have a choice, do not take a booth if you are more than two, those are small spaces, a table may be best. The crab and artichoke dip is great. Their... More

This restaurant was close to our hotel and had high ratings from Trip Advisor. Tarrant's did not disappoint. Quaint atmosphere in an old apothecary. The service was superb and prompt. They have a bevy of menu selections, there is something for everybody here. I had a fried polenta ap with shrimp and scallops in lobster cream sauce and would highly... More
