My husband and I were walking around Carytown for the first time on Saturday afternoon. We really wanted ice cream, but all we found at first was a frozen yogurt chain. But then we started seeing people walked toward us with ice cream. We asked someone and found out about Bev's and were glad we waited! I am very particular... More

Not only was the service poor--no hello, no 'thank you' but our chocolate ice cream had ice chunks--not supposed to!! I used to make ice cream for a PT job I had years ago in undergrad...so we won't be back.

Located in the shopping area known as Carytown this little ice cream shop is big on flavor. I mean lots of flavors with unusual combinations. Wish we lived close by to try them all! Their sign on the street intrigued me with the Mexi-Cali chocolate flavor. I wasn't sure about trying so they gave me a sample. Umm, not bad.... More

We were walking the street when we came across this place. I had the "Espresso Oreo" flavor and it just hit the spot!! Loved it, just perfect! Definitely a must try!

Came here based on high TripAdvisor reviews and was blown away. Delicious homemade ice cream, fudge and whipped cream. Wow. Just go!

Yogurt has taken over, and its harder to find real ice cream. So, thank goodness this place exist. When in carytown, skip the yogurts, and go to the local place. On my love it list.

Bev's is a local institution. The ice cream is made in house and is everything you would expect in a fresh frozen confection. The staff is friendly and attentive and Bev can often be found behind the counter making sure things are running smoothly. Bottom line- eat local and be happy an content.

Busy little ice cream place on Cary St. Bev's changes flavors often and comes up with some great special items. We tried the glazed donut ice cream, which was yummy. Prices are reasonable. Be prepared to stand in line

Took the kids here for ice cream after a meal up the street at Weezies. We had various flavors of creamy homemade ice cream and milkshakes (all good portions). Incredible! The mint chocolate chip was smooth and creamy with just the right amount of "minty-ness" without the green food dye. The milkshakes were wonderful and creamy. Try it. You will... More

Yes they have unusual flavors, but I'm a chocolate sort of a guy and Bev's is as good as I've ever had. Rich & creamy with almost a cocoa note, this stuff is what ice cream should be. Even the temperature was just right- not too hard.
