On the second floor on a street being torn up. I though we were in the wrong place with the broom and dustpan on the door. But inside it was bright and welcoming. I suspect it is quite noisy when full but we were there early. Good food large portions. The pasta fra diablo with shrimp was very... read more

This was a rehearsal dinner for my daughter and fiancé. Their first date had been there. The food was wonderful from appetizers to the tiramisou. I have never liked calamari but theirs was great. I wanted a doggie bag for the pork chops but none were left. (we were served family style). The only bad thing about this place is... More

You would miss this place if you didn't have the address. It's on a side street in the "Fan District" up a narrow set of stairs on the second floor. What we disliked: This place is LOUD!! I've never been there for lunch but the dinner hours are incredibly loud. Why the patrons shout, I have no idea. It is... More

I will never go back. I was treated rudely by the maitre'd and waitress. Upon arrival, less than 15 mins late for the entire group of 6 to come, another group was given a table and we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. This is very loud, close setting. Menu is MEAT or Pasta. Confusing bc nothing is... More

Right by VCU. Check event times to avoid waiting. Place was packed before 7 and then emptied. Extremely noisy! Also, a few of the seats were flooded by the setting sun. No drapes on the windows. One entree, the pasta with broccoli, ricotta and pinenuts was fantastic. Our other two entrees, shrimp with pasta and veal piccata, were average at... More

This place was recommended to us by a friends and we have gone here about 4 times. Even with a reservations this time, we waited about 15 minutes, hovering over other tables while waitstaff squeeze by, whizzing about. We were placed in the center of the restaurant in tight quarters which we found uncomfortable. We had 2 bottles go house... More

Great seafood, friendly wait staff, reasonable prices, pasta cooked just right. Don't pass this one by.

Reservations mean nothing. We had reservations and waited forty-five minutes for a table, then forty-five more minutes for starters. When we asked for a complementary carafe of wine, the "host" laughed and walked away. The place is extremely noisy. Okay for students perhaps, but not for mature adults.

Went there for lunch with a friend at her suggestion...had a hard time finding the location as the restaurant is tucked away above another store on a side street. The atmosphere was nice with lovely exposed brick walls. Service was prompt and friendly. It is a small dining room with the tables a little too close together, kind of cramped.... More

Some of the other reviewers have mentioned this but it is important to note that this place is not easy to find -- obviously on purpose. When you find the building you will think the restaurant is closed and be wary of opening the door. There is a steep, dark, fairly filthy staircase to climb and then you open the... More
