Hard to find...worth the search!

Went there for lunch with a friend at her suggestion...had a hard time finding the location as the restaurant is tucked away above another store on a side street. Reservations mean nothing. We had reservations and waited forty-five minutes for a table, then forty-five more minutes for starters. When we asked for a complementary carafe of wine, the "host" laughed and walked away. The place is extremely noisy. Okay for students perhaps, but not for mature adults.

Some of the other reviewers have mentioned this but it is important to note that this place is not easy to find -- obviously on purpose. When you find the building you will think the restaurant is closed and be wary of opening the door. There is a steep, dark, fairly filthy staircase to climb and then you open the... More

A little hard to find but really worth the effort. We came on New Year's Eve for lunch. Everything was really yummy. They were very helpful. They were very nice to our foodie 8 yr old. We will certainly come come back. Great food in a quirky place is always a good mix!

We went there on Monday for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. We asked our server about popular choices and ordered arugula squid salad with white beans and pears (what a treat!),clam chowder soup and pene pasta with Parmesan cheese. All portions were big and we just shared them. Definitely check this place!!

We always stop in Richmond on our way back from down South as our daughter always has a different restaurant she wants to show us. She does not disappoint. On the outside you get no hint of what is on the inside. After climbing Mt. Edo, you step into the dining hall. We were greeted and watched the mountains of... More

Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building. This restaurant is on the second floor of a building and the stairway has lots of cleaning supplies and mops and brooms hanging from the door. But the restaurant inside is nice with lots of windows. The food was excellent and the service very good.

We were visiting Richmond and the people we were visiting made a reservation at this restaurant. It has a very unassuming front entrance. We were told by many locals the staff was grumpy and did not take to special requests. The staff was great, the food was amazing, and we felt like we were in the know by going there.... More

We are big fans of Edo's sister restaurant Mama Zu in Richmond, however Mama Zu is closed on Sundays so we were looking for an alternative for great Italian cuisine. We thought, why not keep it in the same restaurant family and decided to give Edo's Squid a try. our loyalty was not misplaced. The service is impeccable, efficient, and... More
