Very much a casual neighborhood feel to Bacchus, but with a much more interesting and upscale menu than you would expect. Reasonably priced and great service from a very engaging staff. It's also a comfortable place to dine alone or have a drink at the bar.

I had dinner at this restaurant and ordered the scallops. The dish had a funny after taste and the fish tasted undercooked. I sent it back with the server and asked that she has her manager check on it. I did not ask for anything instead, I was going to eat my side dishes and my leftover appetizer. A minute... More

We had never been to this restaurant so decided to try it during Restaurant Review. Participating restaurants normally offer 3 apps, 3 to 5 entrees and 3 desserts but Bacchus had about a dozen app choices! We had an excellent server (Tara) and the kitchen was very quick -- yes, it was Restaurant Week and they wanted to keep the... More

My wife and I went to Bacchus based on friends recommendation. We went on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was full (which is always a good sign) but we had made reservations. The atmosphere would suit just about any age group. It is a busy place. The service was great. The menu is huge with many appetizing dishes. Nice wine... More

Our party of 4 had varied interests but each enjoyed our meals. The chicken livers and calamari were served without breading....MUCH preferred to the way others prepare food. The duck breast was delicious, pasta was outstanding, mussels, a usual favorite. We had a great experience here. Two of the 4 in the party are local and visit often. The other... More

I have eaten here three times in the last year. The first two times were fabulous -- great service, delicious pasta. I ate there tonight with 3 other people and no one thought their food was better than average. My dinner was terrible -- the white pizza and the pasta were super salty. I shouldn't have kept eating it. But,... More

We eat out at least 3 times a week and have eaten in many different cities all over the world. Bacchus absolutely has the best food in Richmond. They are innovative and there is a huge selection. The atmosphere is just perfect, eclectic, various age groups and just all around perfect. They do not follow the "trendy" new restaurants in... More

Typically I don't get into the debate about what was written in a daily newspaper review but this is the exception. We've been enjoying Bacchus for 9 years now and look forward to each frequent visit. It's this simple, the food is simply on point. I'll throw out some favorites... Best soft shell crab in Richmond. We've had them all... More

Had dinner there last night. All four of us felt the food was great as was the service. The waitress was very patient with us as we have some who obsess about what they want. Recent review in local paper was not as kind but the food has always been great with large enough portions that we all have enough... More

My husband and I were in town for business and wanted a chill early dinner. So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant. Simply fantastic. A neighborhood Italian place with tons of character. Fresh baked bread with olive oil and butter, nice bottle of wine (reasonably priced from a comprehensive list), a huge bowl of mussels and clams, and more pasta... More
