Love it!

This place is special! Here's why....first the food is just what one wants when wanting soul/ southern classics....seafood, cornbread ,cabbage, etc. Second is that it has become a beacon in an up and coming neighborhood.and just a reminder...get there early...always crowded and busy....as well it... read more

Visited this restaurant based on a recommendation and was not disappointed! The food was very good and the portions very big. We made reservations for 6 p.m. and avoided the rush. Be prepared to wait a bit for your food though.

Cornbread, cabbage, potatoes...delicious!! Mac n cheese...fantastic! Everything home made! Then there's the fish...big selection cooked about any way you can name! Super friendly and efficient staff. Relaxed atmosphere including live jazz on some evenings during the dinner hours. Prices are mid-range but you definitely get your money's worth. The only drawback is the line to get in after about 6pm... More

I had never heard of Croaker's Spot, my sister suggested it from hearing some celebrities like Steve Harvey praise it. It's in a storefront that is easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled. We went on a Friday evening at about 6 pm and it was packed. We gave the very nice young lady at the reception our names... More

First off let me start by saying that our party of 20 arrived at around closing. (We had no clue it was closing time). We spoke with the manager who informed us the wait would be at least an hour. A majority of our party did not want to wait, but was reassured by the manager that the wait would... More

The location was easy to google/map to get to the location and ample street parking available. Mr. Ralph-floor manager and Bartender-Atica, were both helpful with selections and the history of the family-owned establishment. BEST of bar selections, specials and local beers or cocktails. The ordered food is THE best of home-style kitchen dishes and you either should get there by... More

I had heard so many times about this REstaurant that I really wanted to try it out. Finally got there and was not disappointed. Food was excellent--not greasy or fatty. Fried fish is amazing. They give you more that you order so if you order 2 pieces of fish you probably get 4. Cornbread is yummy! I will go back... More

The Croaker is a nice place to have a good home cooked meal. However, be prepared to wait as we waited for 3 hours before being seated and then another 45 minutes for service. The portions are enough to feed two people off one plate. Great food but not so good wait time.

Today, my mother and I went to the Croaker Spot 7/26/15. We had the same waiter and he remembered me. Excellent service, excellent food. We went early right at noon to beat the church crowd. We had the two piece fish boat, cabbage, red skin potatoes and corn bread. The restroom was also clean. Great experience and enough food for... More
