Good Food but too Long for Wait Time

The Croaker is a nice place to have a good home cooked meal. However, be prepared to wait as we waited for 3 hours before being seated and then another 45 minutes for service. The portions are enough to feed two people off one plate. Great food but not so good wait time.

Today, my mother and I went to the Croaker Spot 7/26/15. We had the same waiter and he remembered me. Excellent service, excellent food. We went early right at noon to beat the church crowd. We had the two piece fish boat, cabbage, red skin potatoes and corn bread. The restroom was also clean. Great experience and enough food for... More

This place was recommended by a former chef, so we came here with high expections. We were not disappointed, and we will make a special trip to come back. This is what I imagine southern cooking to be with a modern sensibility. The portions are amazingly generous. I had the veggie rice, and it was delicious, full flavored, but not... More

The Croaker Spot was recommended by a friend during my stay in Richmond. I had the ultimate Seafood platter. The plate and service was excellent. I never saw the bottom of my sweet iced tea glass. This will be a must visit anytime I visit Richmond.

Croaker Spot is just a nice place. It has great down home country cooking. If you are not into that, you are in the wrong place. Like going to Grandma's to eat.

First visit for a working lunch, maitre 'd flipped me off when I asked for a table for my party of four, said it had to be cleaned and he made no effort to get it cleaned! Croaker Spot is the only restaurant that I eat at when Im in Richmond. Not only is the seafood good, anything you order is good. Prepared fresh and homemade. Its even presented to you nicely. On my last visit which was recently, we went there with family. Some of my family members have never been so this was really a... More

I found this restaurant online and could not wait to go during my visit to Richmond. We went on the tail end of the lunch rush. We did not have an extremely long wait. The staff was very swift and extremely pleasant. The food was great as we expected. The limeade selections were fabulous! We ended up leaving a little... More

The food is plentiful and well seasoned. Best cabbage and cornbread recipes on the east coast. Great service!
