Depends on what you get

Been here twice. First time was amazing second time was ok. For some reason the second time I went the barbecue had way too much vinegar almost unbearable. There okra is the best side. You should get 2 sides of it. Try not to sit next to the door during the winter months it sucks with the constant... read more

I want to like this place as it's walking distance from my place of work but I find it uninspired. I get the concept but it seems to have out grown the mac and cheese vision that put it on the map years ago. I feel it hasn't evolved well with the burgeoning Richmond dining explosion.

charming little gem serving up some of the best southern food in Virginia. the fried ikra is too goo to describe. Menu is simple well prepared comfort foods. An extensive bourbon menu. Save room for dessert, the banana oudding served crem brûlée style...shut the front door! You would be remiss if you went to Richmond and didnt stop by Comfort.... More

Nice staff and very knowledgeable about menu. We had great cocktails - they do lots of local and craft ingredients- for example they make their own ginger beer. Dinner was fine/ none of us were overwhelmed with our food- fine, a bit salty. The menu is, as they say, comfort foods and good choices. My favorite thing was the squash... More

I visited Comfort for the first time with a friend due to the rave comments by co-workers. We were seated at the bar since it's a small restaurant; the bartender was very knowledgeable of the drink and food menus. The bartender let us sample a local riesling, we each ordered a glass, in addition, we enjoyed fried green tomatoes and... More

If you looking for a good dinner and in the neighborhood Comfort will not disappoint. I was with a small group on a night out and having heard good things was very hype about the choice. I knew they didn't take reservations so we arrived very early to avoid a long wait. Well we didn't wait but we did cram... More

Visiting from Houston and we were able to get a seat on a Friday night without a reservation. The beer selection and bourbon selection was excellent. The good and service were also great. Try the pimento cheese appetizer and the banana pudding for dessert. I ordered trhe meatloaf with fried okra - yummy! Others orderd Pork Loin and Pork Chops.... More
