We hear so much about Comfort but I just don't understand the hype. The dinner was good. Good food. Our server was good. However, greeted at the door by a hostess who questioned where our 4th was (he was 5 mins behind us) when there was 1 seated table was unnecessary. I would understand if the place was packed and... Comfort has stood the test of time in Richmond as its restaurant scene continues to heat up. On our recent visit the food was good but the special entree was a smallish portion. The service was good as well. The place was very busy on a Monday night. What turned me off was the grungy group of locals that apparently... More

The name tells it all. A comfortable place with good southern comfort foods. Good selection of items including seafood, meatloaf, pork chops, etc. The side dishes are all very good. We had tried to go a couple of times but couldn't get in. Those were nights with something going on in the area. We went last Friday and had no... More

The food is always good at Comfort and never seems to be less than awesome. It is hard to describe the cuisine. I like the term gourmet dinner. They have mac and cheese and meatloaf but it is not dinner food. There fried Okra is better than homemade. Their collard greens are the real thing. My favorite dish is the... More

One of my favorite places to eat in Richmond. I usually get the barbecue or the meatloaf, and the sides are always terrific. Sunday brunch is also a gem--you have to try the sweet potato hash browns!

You'll want everything on the menu! Everything was so delicious, especially the meatloaf. The name really nails the type of food that is served here. Perfect restaurant for a date night!

Four of us ate here while in town for a conference. The menu is quite limited, and quite pricey. My meal (barbeque pork with green beans and squash casserole) was $20, and I had water to drink. I have had better barbecue in Richmond, and didn't care much for the casserole. I would not rush back here.

Enjoyed a recent business lunch in this renovated downtown space. The meat loaf plate lunch with fresh vegetables was excellent and my fellow diners especially recommended the ham sandwich made with bread and butter pickles and cold slaw. Arrive early as there are no reservations and the crowd speaks for the food quality.

I have eaten here multiple times over the past two years, and have always been satisfied with my choice. Very simple one page menu of the fresh made entrees / sides for the day. I had the Rockfish, with mashed potatoes & green beans, and it was delicious !

Party of 7. Seated near front door. Cold. Place is lacking in any color besides blonde wood. No warmth exuded from the environs. Waitress was skittish. Didn't take everyone's drink orders at once. Just walked away from table and when she came back later she walked away because we didn't look ready to give her a drink order --wha? One... More
