This is "down home" cooking but just about everything we ordered, they were out of!!! So we had to order food we wouldn't have ordinarily chosen to order if we'd had a choice. Besides that, it was waaayyy over-priced. For the 2 of us, our bill was $50 an that was san alcohol or any beverage. We drank water. No... More

I lived in Richmond for a couple of months and, as a foreigner, I found that Comfort provided me a nice dose of local cusine for an affordable price. Another nice factor is the location, since i lived in the VCU campus, I found it a bit harder to search for restaurants and bbq's located far away in the city... More

This restaurant is in a slightly updated (could use some more work) building on the popular Broad street in Richmond. As we found is pretty typical, parking is at a premium and usually means a couple of blocks of walking. But that's ok if the good is really good. I ordered pork tenderloin with a vegetable and my wife ordered... More

The food at Comfort is very much like a home cooked meal. nice portion sizes; great desserts... The atmosphere could be improved...but it is an older downtown restaurant... Prices are fair - I will definitely try it again.

Seated immediately upon entering. Great, friendly, quick service. Quaint little space. Huge portions of comfort style food with a twist. Enjoyed our dinner, just too much of it. No room to try dessert was the only down side.

Hipsters from anywhere will feel at home here. The food was well prepared and tasty, and served in huge portions. Drinks menu was extensive, with special (and expensive) shots of bourbon and rye, as well as many beers in tap and a charming list of suggested alternatives to your usual wines. Server was pleasant and knowledgable.

Wife Linda & I spent last Thursday & Friday nights in Richmond, VA, to see a play & visit a friend. Someone we met on the street suggested comfort for dinner. The restaurant specializes in southern comfort food, and indeed they do! I had meat loaf, roasted beets, squash casserole & Brussels sprouts, and a lady beside me asked if... More

We were visiting friends near Richmond and we went into the city for dinner. This is a place they had been to before. It was a Friday night and the retsaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait at all for a booth in the back. The decor is shabby chic with crackle finish paint and old furniture, making... More

We hear so much about Comfort but I just don't understand the hype. The dinner was good. Good food. Our server was good. However, greeted at the door by a hostess who questioned where our 4th was (he was 5 mins behind us) when there was 1 seated table was unnecessary. I would understand if the place was packed and... Comfort has stood the test of time in Richmond as its restaurant scene continues to heat up. On our recent visit the food was good but the special entree was a smallish portion. The service was good as well. The place was very busy on a Monday night. What turned me off was the grungy group of locals that apparently... More
