I traveled 2-1/2 hours to have dinner in Richmond with a friend, only to be told upon arrival at another place that my reservation had been cancelled. My friend consoled me by suggesting we eat at Comfort instead...and wow, am I glad she did! The atmosphere is unique, the staff is varied and everything you eat or drink is amazing.... More

This is the best restaurant in Richmond. The food is fresh, homemade, and delicious. I've been at least sixty times in my life and have never been let down. My favorite is the barbecue pork plate with mashed potatoes and green snaps. Hint - add some of the homemade hot sauces from the bar. Roasted chicken, braised rabbit, venison medallions,... More

The lunch menu is very limited but the sandwiches are very tasty. We had the blackened catfish and a pimento cheese with fried green tomato sandwich, both were excellent. A little pricey but good

Casual, inexpensive. The name says it all. Fast seating, efficient wait staff. You pick the sides with your entre. Nice beer list, excellent cocktails.

True example of a storefront restaurant. High, wide windows, bare furniture, plain walls and delicious food. Gets very crowded. Do not sit near the door. The waiting crowd spills over your shoulders watching you eat. But what you are eating is worth the wait. They should enclose the entrance way, make for a warmer insides, the cold wind blew in... A friend of my husband's recommended Comfort to him when he heard we were headed to Richmond for the weekend. We debated whether to try it or somewhere else and finally decided to give it a try. We were glad we did. It was a Saturday night about 6:30 so we had to wait for about an hour for a... More

First, the place is below par on atmosphere, not a big deal. My pork chop, at $22 was spicy. How do you spice up a pork chop? A glass of wine (actually a half glass) was $10. Two entrees, the wine, and a cup of soup came to $66. Wow. Go somewhere else and save your money.

Had an employee of the hotel I was staying at recommend Comfort. What a place. Coming from the north I was looking for some good, hearty comfort food and I was not disappointed. I thought I was going to burst by the time I left. The meatloaf was great, sides were delicious and I was so full I had to... More
