The bar makes a delightful French 75 and offers a "make-your own Manhattan" which is lovely. Definitely highly recommended!

So I must say that I am probably not giving an unbiased opinion as this was the evening my now husband proposed... The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating, presentations were nice. I was surprised however that other customers seemed under dressed for the venue. The bar setting is nice, food was good and excellent selection of drinks. This restaurant... More

The best restaurant in Richmond. The service was impeccable and the food was very good. Scallops were grilled to perfection ($30.00). Hamburger for my grandson was declared tasty ($18.00). The fried pickles were a fun appetizer for the four of us to share. The rhubarb dessert was delicious ($7.00). The room is very attractive as is the hotel lobby. Don't... More

This restaurant is in the Jefferson, the best hotel in Richmond. The staff has expertise that will be sure to please you. The food is well prepared and tasty. Importantly, there is a lot of space between the tables to ensure intimacy in conversation. We really enjoyed our two breakfasts in this fine dining room!

There is no doubt with main courses at over $30 this is going to be relatively expensive. Portions are small, but well cooked. We thought some of the combinations were odd, or perhaps interesting and adventurous, depending on you point of view. poor coffee. cocktails too limited in choice. plenty of space between tables, attentive and ppleasant service, but for... Lemaire is in the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA. The hotel has been around since forever and Thomas Jefferson stands in the center of the lobby. This hotel even has it's on museum. The crown of the Jefferson is it's top drawer restaurant, Lemaire. They have a lovely wine list but truly, the food is the star. The chef has... More

Take a walk back into history as you enter the Jefferson Hotel where this restaurant is located. Ambiance is quiet and reserved. Service was very good and our waiter was very well informed about the menu and how dishes were prepared. The wine list was respectable and reasonable. The dinners were prepared to everyone liking including the steaks which differed... More

We have always enjoyed dining here. Wonderful place to stay as well. When we want to get away for a romantic weekend we book two nights at the Jefferson and dine one night at Lemaire and the other night at Bookbinder's, both excellent places. They will even shuttle you down to the latter so we can leave our car in... More

We enjoyed our meal so much the first evening at The Jefferson Hotel that we ate there again the second night, and breakfast Sunday morning. It's just lovely. Great good, fresh ingredients, interesting/innovative menu, wonderful service. Thoroughly recommend it.

Very nice to see a restaurant hotel use only local ingredients where possible. Everything, aside from the fish, was an absolute delight. We especially enjoyed the cream of vidalia onion soup, maria's old fashioned jumbo lump blue crab cake, pan seared hudson valley foie gras a la "breakfast", and this fanciful dessert made of chocolate, peanut butter, and marshmallow. When... More
