Great flavors!

I'm new to the Richmond area, so I've been trying out different places. I found a Living Social deal for Havana 59 and figured I'd give it a whirl. I'm glad I did! My friend and I dined on pork morsels (excellent flavor), Paella (said it was really good), and the Cubano sandwich (I loved) along... read more

We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve at Havana 59 this year which was a change of pace for this baby boomer couple who had stayed home in recent years. The dinner was fantastic, jumbo shrimp appetizer, steak for the entrée, and chocolate cake for dessert. We really enjoyed it. Following dinner, we went upstairs and welcomed in the New... More

Authentic Cuban food & atmosphere. GREAT mojitos! What I like about this place is it's got two sides to the restaurant, one side you can smoke cigars. They have a great selection of rums and cigars although I usually bring my own cigars. Service has always been great on all my visits, tonight Ashley is taking care of me, very... More

The scallops were wonderful. Perfectly seasoned in a tomato sauce. Served with plantains and artichokes. This is a very unique, old Cuban style restaurant. It has a live palm tree growing in the bar, dimly lit and cigars allowed. No air conditioning, but the entire front opens for a great breeze. The mojitos were superb, made with Cruzan rum and... The restaurant looked charming with lots of character. The interior was designed to invoke the romance of old Cuba. The menu & cocktails looked interesting, although a little meat heavy. We were disappointed when the experience didn't pan out. The portions were small & the food was a bit too salty and didn't have much other flavor. The service was... More

Visited on a Tuesday evening, the bar was hopping! We were there with a large group of friends, we ordered drinks and entrees, the service was outstanding, our server was very attentive and had most everything covered before we even had to ask! The menu is not huge, but what they do have is excellent. I had the Cubano, a... More

I loved the atmosphere of this place. Large garage doors open up to the street for an open air dining feel. I went for happy hour with a professional group that I'm involved with, so we all split appetizers. We had the fried calamari, oysters, nachos, and pizza. I also had a $5 mojito that had a ton of fresh... More

great place to grab a drink at the patio bar. Cigars are sold at the bar also. Food is excellent. This restaurant draws people from every demographic. Sit down dining is offered inside the restaurant.

Great food, very good service and a great decor. We had dinner there twice during our stay in Richmond. I really liked the place. Very good atmosphere and good food. I love the starters, especial the Cuban nachos, but the rest was good as well.

Havana 59 features salsa dancing on the upstairs deck on Thursday evenings. There is a class from 8-9 pm, followed by dancing to a DJ from 9-12 midnight. Cover charge before 9 is $3.00 and $5.00 after 9 pm. It's a great place to go for salsa dancing.
