Great food, good service

Was presently surprised by this quaint little place. We went for lunch and loved the appetizers, especially the duck egg rolls and the home made chips. The salads we had were ample and very fresh, even the salmon was cooked properly! We had more then enough to eat at a very reasonable price... read more

We met some friends here for some drinks prior to our dinner reservations elsewhere. The staff is extremely professional and courteous, and we enjoyed our happy hour drinks. We did enjoy some live music from a lone guitarist, but the volume was too loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. The place is a bit dark inside, but... More

Oh my goodness! We went out of our way to visit the Cary Street Cafe because they advertised live music from 4 to 7 pm, and acoustic band, and the menu sounded reasonable. What we found was a sorry little bar with a few patrons sitting on bar stools, very shabby looking, and no music. Quite disappointing. We took one... More

Nice staff waited us on a rainy Saturday afternoon in April 2014. Floating around Cary street, this is a must stop just for the atmosphere alone. Nice area outside to sit in and inside is dark and nicely decorated. The folks who waited us were all just amazing and friendly and even though they were busy, took time to explain... More

I live in the Fan area of Richmond, and when my wife and I just want some good food rather quickly delivered, this is our go to place. The menu is large for a bar/pub, but everything we have gotten has been very well made, and very tasty. No surprises.

Like most inner city restaurants, looks can be deceiving. I would never had even ventured into Cary St. Café, until a friend turned me onto it. The nachos are the best in Richmond, and if your a vegetarian, you would love the menu choices. There are tons of "regulars" and the bartenders will pour you a great drink. The atmosphere... More

Was in Richmond for a few days and went to the Cary Street Cafe before a show at the Byrd Theater just two blocks away. The staff was responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. The service was prompt and the food was good. There happy hour specials are great in both price and quality. Half-off appetizers from 4-6 on weekdays and $3... More

I've driven past this place a million times and I finally ventured inside last night. There was a $7 cover to get inside, not too thrilled about that. My friends wanted to order some food. The kitchen was about to close and the bartender lady wasn't being too friendly about it. I ordered a local draft beer and it was... More

We stopped here for lunch, on the fly. Sign outside said "Best Chili in Town", so we had the Chili. It was good, served differently than I'd had before, and was definitly filling! Nice selection of beers and good staff. This is a decent little dive bar with good food, that sums it up.
