Great atmosphere offering comfort food

A great old restaurant space with eclectic decor and a staff to match. I decided to try this place because it was featured on DDD. The menu offers comfort food with a twist. We were there for breakfast. I look forward to returning for lunch/dinner to try the Stromboli.

First time in Richmond and my good friend took me to this cafe for lunch! This cafe is just a few blocks away from her house and she often goes there. The food is actually okay. I got spaghetti and some toast. The salad, the toast and the spaghetti are just in good portion!! The price is good although the... More

This place has a great atmosphere that really embodies the ambience of downtown Richmond. The food is great and it is often filled with students from nearby VCU. My one complaint is parking can really be a pain. They have a parking lot that offers VERY few spaces but the 7/11 next door seems to have more spaces than it... More

My husband and I tried the Village Cafe after dropping our daughter off at a camp at VCU. The location is great. It was just a block or two from the dorms. We chose this cafe because it was the nicest looking of all the restaurants we walked past. Some of those places looked like real dives. I loved the... More

the service here is absolutely terrible. The wait staff do not care at all about their guests. We saw tables who came in 30 minutes after us get their food before we were ever close to getting ours! We ended up leaving very annoyed and hungry!

Typical bar food. Burgers, fried apps, wraps, salads, subs, and pizza. Nothing special or out of the ordinary. It is an "okay" place to grab a quick bite. Don't expect any special and you won't be disappointed. Service was good and quick and efficient. Prices were good.

Good good, reasonable prices, great beverage glasses. Parking could be hard to find, close to VCU. Better when school is on a break.

It looked like a possible gem, but not so much. Food was "meh" and overpriced. Service was "meh" until we purchased a souvenir mug, something we don't usually do but it was my partner's birthday and it seemed like a goofy thing to have. The server gave us the $12.50 mug in a bag. When we got home we took... More
