Drove thru Richmond on way back from Williamsburg and stopped here for brunch. Boy are we glad we did. Lovely little place! We were seated at the back which we felt we had our own little room. Menu had many interesting twists. We had the Egg Benedict, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, French Toast and omelets? All were delicious, including their homemade... More

This was our first visit to Helen's and what a delightful experience. Loved the setting and atmosphere. Much of restaurant original to the space when it was a pharmacy and then converted to restaurant in 1935. Vintage but well maintained. Background music went perfectly with the space and added to the retro feel. Staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Service nicely... More

Very little has changed here since it opened in the 20's, and that's the reason to come. It's a little cramped, it's a little noisy, but that's the price you pay for authenticity. The food and service are first rate, and I especially appreciate that they store and serve their red wine from a cooler and not at room temperature.

LOVE this place! Food was great as was service. Omelets, veggie sandwiches were excellent paired with good coffee and a Mimosa made for a perfect brunch!

Good value fro the money. I met a client there for lunch it the food was great and so was the service. They presented our food and left us to be able to discuss business and yet were right there is we needed anything.

Went to Helen's for brunch with some friends and had a splendid time. Located in the Fan District, this place is nicely decorated with the copper topped tables, bar and copper painted ceiling that resembles stamped copper. Seated by the window overlooking the street, our server was prompt, helpful and very delightful. The bloody Mary's were superb and strong. For... More

We really liked Helen's. The establishment is small and has an old flair to it. The pork shank was very tender and tasty, and the stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon was also very good. We will return sometime in the future.

We had a reservation but waited 10 min for a table although the girls in front of us did not have a reservation and were seated immediately. No complaints though because we got a great window seat. The servers were super friendly hospitable and knowledgable. Drinks were tasty. But by the time they came to take our food order we... More

I like this place for brunch but I recently went for dinner and was very disappointed. The service has never been great but for the price of dinner I expected something a little nicer than brunch. The food was okay but the service was not great and it was too expensive for what was just 'nicer' bar food. If you... More

Nice atmosphere, cool and hipster. Open kitchen design. Had no problem getting a table at 11 am on a Sunday. Mimosas and Bloody Mary were both great. Country scramble was very good. Potatoes are seasoned with cumin, adding an unusual twist. I enjoyed the salmon florentine although the hollandaise sauce was very heavy and plentiful. Might ask for it on... More
