Fun night

The menu had a variety of choices and we certainly were not shy about ordering and eating. Since my daughter lives in the area, there were plenty of suggestions and there was not a disappointed person at our table of about ten. Despite the time of our reservation, the service provided by the... read more

We made reservations with three other couples to have dinner here and we loved it. We started off with mac n cheetos, beer cheese bread, breads and spreads, spring rolls, and fried brussels sprouts... all were very delicious and promptly brought to our table. Our entrees included the beef medallions, shrimp and grits, and burger... again, all were very delicious.... More

Met friends here to start off a dinner crawl of various Richmond watering holes. Love their Rusty Beaver brews on tap, and many other selections. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good menu selections.

What a fun evening! My husband and I went to Social 52 based on one dish: The Mac and Cheetos! And it lived up to our expectations! It was hands down the BEST mac and cheese I have ever had! We also loved the beer, cheese and bacon bread, the duck spring rolls, and the queso. The bar scene was... More

Enjoyed a recent Birthday gathering here with family. Bar first had great craft beers from the area, and found a great new one - Rusty Beaver from Fredericksburg area. Dinner was great, apps., entrees, and especially my Shroom burger. Service Tricia topped it off with a surprise slice of key lime pie with birthday candle. Parking in this are tough,... More

It is a small restaurant in Carytown with a large beer menu, but it is expensive. For the price of the beer & food, I was never very impressed with the quality. It had a fun atmosphere though.

Our server Trisha was very accommodating and attentive. Food is pretty good. Fried brussel sprouts were delish, flatbread pizza's were just ok, not 'well-done' enough for my taste but good flavor. Sandwiches were huge. Sweet potato fries were sweet n salty, crispy n soft - very good. Huge beer menu by the bottle and large draft selection on the chalk... More

Renovations preserve old Richmond with contemporary look. Feels more open. Despite crowd didn't feel cramped and service was excellent. Food was very good . I had the duck breast and wife had salmon. This was after sampling 2-3 excellent appetizers . Will tell all my friends and will definitely be back!

Avalon has friendly service, fresh food, original ideas. Great wine list. Great dark wood in an old fashioned bar. Interesting dishes, like shrimp with Couscous instead of grits. Brussel sprouts sliced up and thrown in a griddle with garlic and pine nuts. Truffle French fries! Never been disappointed. Even small plates are generous for the price, enough for the table...
