Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.

What a great dining spot

I really like Strawberry Street. We stopped here last time we visited Richmond 11 years ago. I remembered liking it, so made plans to stop again. It was just as good as I remembered. This time I had the French Dip with a side of fresh fruit. The au jus had a great flavor, the roll was soft and... read more

Had the French Dip with fresh fruit. Food was great, staff was nice and courteous. Must check out the bath tub salad bar.

The Strawberry Street Cafe is an excellent place for a casual dinner with friends, as there's something on the menu for every appetite. We met friends for dinner there; I enjoyed the cream of crab soup, which was delicious, and the extensive "bath tub" salad bar. I sampled my husband's pasta dish with cajun chicken, which was yummy, and my... More

My wife and I stopped for brunch as it was one of my wife's favorite places to eat when she used to live in Richmond. This time did not live up to past experiences. We arrived approximately 20 minutes after they opened and most of the hot items seemed like they had been out for hours. This was completely different... More

This is not a fancy restaurant, but the food is good. Service was adequate. French onion soup was on the cold side. The French Dip was okay. Nothing special. There is a nice salad bar which I did not eat. I'd say it is worth another try.

I've lived in Richmond for the last 25 years and I never have tried Strawberry St Cafe until today. To call it a cafe is not entirely accurate. It's a legit restaurant with a bar. Well, a bar for alcohol and one for salad. I ate alone to give it a try before bringing my family. My waitress was very... More

Returned here with family in tow, having eaten here once on business 10-12 years ago. Loved it then; loved it today. Hostess was pleasant, seating our party immediately. Server was friendly and attentive without hovering. Menu was ample with many tempting selections. The Children's Menu was appreciated by our junior diner. Meals.appeared miraculously quickly with healthy portions attractively presented. The... More

Very extensive menu. Enjoyed the location and the atmosphere. Came here on a recommendation. Unfortunately my main dish must have sat under a heat lamp for a while. I had the shrimp and grits. Had great potential, but so dried up. I was hungry and ate it anyway. Tough and chewy shrimp. Crab cake was good but dry. Grits were... More

A good restaurant that I unfortunately only get to dine at 1-2 a year. Located in the fan, parking can be tight if you are there at peak hours, but if you get there a little before dinner usually not a problem. Great hardwood interior, a little cramped when it is in a busy stretch, but good food. Have the... More

We had brunch there while we were visiting my sister in Richmond. My sister's boyfriend that went to school in Richmond, took us there. The food was very good and the nachos, were the best I have ever had. Good beer selection.
