Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.

Great breakfast

I heard about this cafe 15 years ago and never had the chance to visit. I am so happy that I finally was able to dine here. Breakfast was terrific. I had the French toast. It was a reasonable amount, not a huge portion. It was served with bacon and hash browns. My dining companion had an omelette... read more

It's another neighborhood gem with great service and really good food. I especially enjoy their Sumday bathtub brunch

We had dinner here Thirsday July 16, 15, both couples had been here before so we chose to return. The food was ok, a bit overpriced. I was disappointed in the quality of service. The female server actually served all four plates from one corner reaching over two of us. The same when she picked up the finished plates. I... More

I know I miss out on many other wonderful restaurants in Richmond, but If I'm in the fan district I just have to visit this hidden gem. When I visit the VMFA I have to stop in here and have their gourmet salad bar. The decor is unique and unforgettable. An artistic masterpiece. Service is always exemplary and the food... More

Small Café in a nice neighborhood. Three of us shared the spinach/tomato omelet, has browns and a breakfast burrito. We especially liked the hash browns that were flavored with gouda cheese. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. Attentive service as well.

We visited SSC this past weekend after our daughter's high school graduation. Our party of 6 all had the buffet. It was excellent and the service was great. The brunch is very reasonably priced and it is served on Sat. and Sun. The only negative is that the website and a sign in the window tell of "plenty of parking... More

We visited for lunch on a Monday during the rush and were seated immediately. Every other table was full and there were many groups of 6-8 people or more. Our server got our drink order right away and our food order when she brought our drinks back a few minutes later. She had quite a few tables but she was... More

This place is amazing! My son was in a rehab program over at nearby Retreat hospital after a severe accident. We explored the Fan district to find different places to eat. One of my son's therapists recommended this place. There were many decent looking items on the menu (I'm a vegetarian so maybe a little pickier than some), but the... More

Had the French Dip with fresh fruit. Food was great, staff was nice and courteous. Must check out the bath tub salad bar.

I really like Strawberry Street. We stopped here last time we visited Richmond 11 years ago. I remembered liking it, so made plans to stop again. It was just as good as I remembered. This time I had the French Dip with a side of fresh fruit. The au jus had a great flavor, the roll was soft and the... More
