This was our first visit to Richmond. A friend recommended we try Patina during our visit to Richmond. I had the herb crusted lamb loin and my wife had the monk fish. Both dishes were prepared wonderfully. The wine list was somewhat limited but we were told they use wines from smaller winerys. We had no trouble selecting a great... More

We returned by accident ...one of our favorite restaurants up the street was fully booked so we decided to grab a cocktail somewhere else while we waited for our table. We thought Patina was closed but saw the lights on and TV going and decided to stop in. I was happy to see Mark behind the bar - he is... More

The far end of Richmond is not known for its local restaurants like the Fan or downtown. In the West End it is home to the "plastic menu" chains at all ends of the price spectrum. We just ate at Patina. The restaurant was recently bought and renovated. The has an upscale interior that is well decorated and quiet. There... More

After learning of the change of hands, gave new Patina a try with a companion who loved the old menu/vibe. The menu, while creative, was short, as was the wine list. Entrees, while tasty, were small. Wait staff was a bit on the brusque side. No more young lady servers - it appeared to be all male. Had to ask... More

For those of you that read my reviews you know I always go at least twice somewhere before submitting. So when we heard one of our favs was sold off to new owner with new staff we decided to give a shot. Same bar, same great setup, new faces - seem to want a simple farm to market type concept.... The Patina Grill, long a favorite of Richmonders has been sold to a new owner. I don't know Greer Bernstein (the new owner), but the clean look and simplified menu shows us that she has a deft touch of a pro. The new menu is simpler than before and very good. It also seems to me that the entres are... More

Dined at the restaurant on 12-11-12. Food was nicely presented but portions were extremely small. Waiter even remarked that my husband's salad was much smaller than the other servings at the table so I thought he was going to make some amends - bring more salad to the table but he did nothing. To top off our evening the prices... More

One of the best decorated restaurants around. Not enough choices in food. Should have renamed when reopened under new management. Everyone thinks it is still the old Patina Grill. Which it seems to be.

The Patina Grill is on the west side of Richmond, and it's worth the drive. We enjoyed a fabulous meal. I had the grilled lamb chops which were excellent. The decor was attractive, and the service could not have been better. We went on Tuesday night, and like others have said, it was not particularly busy. I've noticed that they... More

Went to the Patina Grill on a Sunday night, and the place was pretty empty. Its off the beaten path, so I wonder how people find it. But its worth looking up. The food and service were very good. We had a quesadilla appetizer, chicken pot pie and the chimichanga. Didn't realize the chimi was vegetarian, but it was still... More
