Monday Nights Good

Once again as we wend our way back home we stop in Richmond to take our daughter to dinner. It's her choice of restaurants and she never misses. The meatloaf was huge, mashed with gravy and green beans in tomatoes. My wife had the Pasta with Portobellos and she said it was the best Pasta she ever... read more

I've been going to Dot's for the past two years, ever since I saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. That was two years ago and I've been there about 6 or 7 times since, but I don't think I'm going back. It is definitely a dive and staple of the neighborhood, but its historic charm and simplicity has become... More

I have found the service to be friendly and the food excellent. I love that the menu board reflects fresh selections based on availability so it's not the same old thing year round but you can always get standbys from the regular menu. The corn cakes are so good it's stupid and the chorizo omelet was incredible. Everything I've had... More

This was at one time on of Richmond, VA's greatest treasures. It was a fantastic restaurant with waitresses that had been there for twenty years. No longer. I sat in the restaurant one afternoon and was shocked when a member of the cook staff stood atop an area where sandwiches were generally prepared with his dirty shoes to change a... More

Great local breakfast , brunch and lunch spot. You can get a Bloody Mary , mimosa, or greyhound with breakfast. Western omelet well prepared with choice of sides and breads. Very friendly attentive waitstaff. Come as you type of place!

At first arrival, I thought.... Noooo. This place CAN'T be as big as the hype! But just wait until you see the bevy of yummy-ness inside the pages of the menu. I'm not sure exactly what their specialty is, except everything looks divine. Up for me was this over the top burger with grilled onions, cheese, bacon, and yes.... A... More

Beautiful spring day and lunch at Dot's Back Inn. What more can I say? Let's just say I needed a burger and the Cajun hit the spot.

Tried this place due to advertisement on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Was pleased with the service and food. Pigs in a Blanket were great and so were the burgers.

Dot's was named for a waitress and is popular with the locals of Bellevue neighborhood. The menu is diner fare and surprisingly good. Service by tattooed waitresses is decent, sometime brusque, but that adds local color. Still smells of smoke: the decades old ghosts of smoking patrons in the walls? Lots of character. We recommend the fish.

This is a classic hole in the wall type place. Cold beer, good food, but nothing fancy about the decor or plating arrangements. Order off the White Board Specials menu- the seafood is excellent. My favorite dish on the regular menu is the Chicken McArthur.
