Divey, in a good way

Poe's was a perfect pit stop on the ride up from Williamsburg on Route 5. Friendly staff, nice beer selection. got there on a Thursday which is rib day. Tasty and very tender, had to knife and fork then cause they fell off the bone. This place will defiantly be on my ride destination.

Have to admit, only went here because of the name. We were on a Poe adventure while in Richmond, and this place is called Poe's Pub. It is your typical pub food. Had the ribs, based on other reviews, but I can't say that it was the best ribs I've ever eaten. The waitress was very friendly. Even thought it... More

And buys it. That's Poe's.....a great place for excellent bar food and some very good foodie stuff. Service is first rate and even though it's a very open area, it feels comfy and cozy. Have only eaten there once, but as soon as I can I'll be back. A little out of the way for me.

Loved it from the moment we walked in. The sign outside says :"sorry were open". It's a neighborhood joint where everyone is welcome. Pub feel. Food was awesome. Catfish bites and the Rueben were fantastic. The corned beef is smoked in house and I called it the prime rib of corned beef. Thick and sooooo tender. Great prices and the... More

After reading reviews of Millie's we stopped there first at 9:45 on a Sunday morning. The place was packed inside and out with a line. We spied Poe's Pub across the street and decided to give it a try. Had to wait until it opened at 10:00 but since we'd been told that the wait would be over half an... More

I had the Poe's ??? off the menu. Don't remember the second word of this sandwich on the menu but it was basically a pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. I would rate it 3-1/2 discs between average and very good. Reason being the meat had a bit too much fat/grizzle. Aside from that it had excellent presentation and... More

Even locals forget the Poe's serves good food. They also have a very good Sunday Brunch. Don't forget Bikes in the Bottom every 2nd Sunday. All kinds of bikes. I recently took my 82 yo father there for lunch. He loved it!!

You definitely need to get past the atmosphere (or lack there of) but Poe's has surprisingly good eats. Both their Reuben and their Ribs are particularly good. They give you a wide choice of sides and plenty to eat. They also have a good selection of draft beers. They lack sufficient parking and although their bar is often full of... More

Poe's Pub was a great find on a recent visit to Richmond. The greatness of this little bar is the friendliness of the patrons and staff. Everyone seems to know almost everyone else, and made an effort to engage me (a newby) as I entered. It seems that it is possible to go to the pub and find a quiet... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find some really good draft beer, including Devil's Backbone lager. The Virginia oyster appetizer is perfectly fried. Moist, but not greasy. We decided just to have apps, so ordered the pound of steamed shrimp and hummus plate. The shrimp was just what it should be, with a dish of cocktail sauce for dipping. The hummus... More
