After hearing about the blue goat for months my wife and I decided go for lunch one Saturday. It was great. I had the sloppy joe (goat chrizo) and my wife had the crab cake sandwich (she loved it) but the Parmesan fries were out of the world

Lazy Saturday afternoon we wandered in and were treated well in the mostly empty restaurant. Waiter recommended crab cake sandwich and it was delightful, full of crab, good buttery toasted bread and the greens added a nice crunch. The Parmesan fries were my favorite.

We arrived at the Blue Goat on a Friday night without a reservation and we were seated quickly. The food and wait staff were excellent. It was a little loud with the bar but nonetheless it is a great stop in downtown Richmond. We shared a bottle of Malbec. The lamb meatballs and bread and cheese appetizer were excellent. Great... Recently the Blue Goat changed its menu to one that more main stream burgers, sandwiches, etc. With this change the prices rose overall; for example at lunch, a crab-cake sandwich on white bread served with a side of tatter totes for $15. The median salad or sandwich prices were in the area of $15. I didn't ask the price and... More

My husband and I went to The Blue Goat for his birthday dinner on a week night. The service was great as our server was very attentive and polite, and explained the specials which all sounded good. We started off a little disappointed because they were out of the fried pickles appetizer which we were craving, so we got shrimp... More

Without reservations, we showed up to Blue Goat on a busy Friday night. Although it looked packed from the outside, we were able to score a table for 2 without a wait. The happy hour had good deals so we drank while deciding on dinner (the mixed drink did not skimp on alcohol!). Together we decided on the pork belly... More

Wife and I arrived here on a recent Saturday night at 6:20. There was no one waiting but the hostess said we have many reservations and have a drink at the bar. My, they must have so very many reservations because in the 3/4 empty dining room they had little "reserved" signs in front of every other plate. We went... More

This place is pricey and tries too hard. Lots of much better places to eat in Richmond. Service was slow, and they didn't bring our appetizer out until after the meal.

I had a recent couples meal at the Blue Goat. It has been awhile since I had been there and much to my delight the menu has changes significantly. I had the oyster stew and a great salad. The service was superb and the food very tasty!

Stumbled upon this restaurant walking down the street and came upon their soup of the day sign: whiskey. The sign brought me in but the food will bring me back. A simple uncluttered menu of ordinary food made with the best ingredients. I had the pork rind appetizer; They came fresh, hot and still crackling to the table. Can you... More
