Delicious brunch!

What a way to start the day! Everything we had for brunch was great! We stated with some fantastic beignets and mimosas. I had the chicken and waffles. It was an excellent version of the dish. I liked the twist of the scallion waffle and pea shoots. Delicious! My husband had the chicken biscuit... read more

Came during Sunday brunch. Ordered fried green tomato appetizer and I was not impressed. It was layered with pimento cheese, tasso ham, pickles and red pepper jam - way too much going on - could not appreciate any single flavor. For our main meal, we chose to share a burger - the flavor was great and we enjoyed the french... More

We visited during Restaurant Week, so the prix fixe menu was limited, but I could be perfectly happy with any of the offerings every week! Outstanding ribeye steak and perfectly done Atlantic drum, with sides and flavorings emphasizing their Southern roots. Appetizers like the she-crab soup and fried green tomatoes were equally tantalizing. It's a big room with a bar... More

On Grove next to the Westhampton Theater be sure to put this on your next CAN"T MISS. Great for 2, 4, 6 or even a private room for 10, the Blue Goat is top notch with food and service. A little noisy but you'll soon forget about anyone around you. Basic food kicked up about 10 notches on the flavor... More

Came to the Blue Goat because of the menu, then got surprised by a prix fixe menu. Decided to give it a go and we weren't disappointed. We were four, so we had one of almost every item offered. She crab soup, smoked pork ribs, chicken livers, Atlantic drum, flank steak and everything was good. Will almost certainly come back... More

Dropped in Saturday after a movie expecting a normal, neighborhood style cafe meal. Pleasure to find an excellent meal and really great service! Three of us had the smoked rib "small plate". Really yummy and far from small. Fried green tomatoes and okra sides were delish. Great selection of craft beers, too. We will return soon.

Previously the Blue Goat had funky food on their menu. But tonight the choices were wonderful. Had a tenderloin that was so tender plus the best Brussels sprouts, and I don't like Brussels sprouts, but I couldn't get enough of them. While I usually do not have dessert I topped dinner off with a slice of mint chocolate chip pie...... More

My wife and I were able to join her cousin and fiance for dinner here on a recent trip to Richmond. The restaurant is a nice, inviting space on Grove Ave. The website touts the cuisine as “neo-southern” and that’s a pretty apt description. It is certainly not a fusion joint, but a fresher take on classic southern ingredients. Fried... More

I like the relaxed atmosphere which, in my humble opinion, makes for an enjoyable meal. My two granddaughters accompanied me and our lunch was delicious. The duck breast was tender and tasty, the pastrami sandwich was delicious as were the fish tacos, and the portions were large.

I wandered into the Blue Goat at 2PM on a Sunday afternoon, after seeing a sign outside saying they were open for lunch. About 10 tables were occupied, and one other person was at the bar. I took a seat at the bar, and sat there for almost 10 minutes without being spoken to by anyone. I got up and... More
