I wandered into the Blue Goat at 2PM on a Sunday afternoon, after seeing a sign outside saying they were open for lunch. About 10 tables were occupied, and one other person was at the bar. I took a seat at the bar, and sat there for almost 10 minutes without being spoken to by anyone. I got up and... More

Went there as two couples for the first time. After reading some of the reviews, my expectations weren't too high. However, everything was excellent! We had some of their signature cocktails, which were very good. The fried oyster appetizer was delicious, with a wonderful sauce and side slaw. The fried oysters with country ham was equally spectacular. For entrees, we... More

Even though it was Restaurant Week in Richmond, we elected to make reservations for our small group on Friday night. We had originally planned on an early movie (next door) and a late dinner, but changed our plans to have an early dinner and a 7:30 movie. We went in, after all finding parking behind the building, and were immediately... More

we had the Oyster po boy and fish tacos. Both were really good and had unusual touches. Arugula topped the fish tacos and was delicious as was the sauce. My disappointments was that the fish was breaded. The oyster po boy had kale. My husband loved his side salad and my dish came with rice and beans. We had a... More

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch on Grove Avenue at The Blue Goat! The food was simply delicious and the servers were most attentive. Dine inside or outside! Directly across from the West Hampton movie theater. You won't be disappointed! Try the Bistro Burger and parmesan fries! We will be back! The restrooms were attractive and clean too!

After hearing about the blue goat for months my wife and I decided go for lunch one Saturday. It was great. I had the sloppy joe (goat chrizo) and my wife had the crab cake sandwich (she loved it) but the Parmesan fries were out of the world

Lazy Saturday afternoon we wandered in and were treated well in the mostly empty restaurant. Waiter recommended crab cake sandwich and it was delightful, full of crab, good buttery toasted bread and the greens added a nice crunch. The Parmesan fries were my favorite.

We arrived at the Blue Goat on a Friday night without a reservation and we were seated quickly. The food and wait staff were excellent. It was a little loud with the bar but nonetheless it is a great stop in downtown Richmond. We shared a bottle of Malbec. The lamb meatballs and bread and cheese appetizer were excellent. Great... Recently the Blue Goat changed its menu to one that more main stream burgers, sandwiches, etc. With this change the prices rose overall; for example at lunch, a crab-cake sandwich on white bread served with a side of tatter totes for $15. The median salad or sandwich prices were in the area of $15. I didn't ask the price and... More
