Start with the fried oysters … enough for two of you. Then get the Hog Dog. It's encased in a bun big enough you can hold it in your hands and enjoy. It's just a small place, so you might have to wait for a table, but it's well worth it.

We have family in Texas that cannot cook brisket as good as this. Melt in your mouth. Fresh vegetables and oysters. Their BBQ is good, and great hot dogs. A new favorite.

There are too many delish items on the menu here. I have only been twice and the first time I went I had the pulled pork and ribs which were amazing. The second time I swore I would try the fried oyster tacos. But I caved and had the pulled pork again. Couldn't get enough with the hog BBQ sauce.... More

The Hogs Head is a bit tucked away and hard to spot for a 1st timer but it's in the GPS now! It's a small hole in the wall with maybe 10 tables and a small bar. Just what I like. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the sweet potato fries. The fries came with a maple sugar dipping... More

On a whim, we passed the kids off to the grandparents and headed off to have dinner at the HogsHead. What a delicious experience. It was packed at 7:00 on a Saturday night, but we put our names in (will definitely call ahead next time) and hung out out front. We were offered seats at the bar to cut our... More

Not much more to say that hasn't already been said. This place was DELISH through and through. Omg the shrimp and corn chowder!! We got there on Saturday night at 8:55 pm after a long day. They told us the kitchen had just been closed, but I guess the looks on our faces made them change their minds, which we... More

Food was really good - We fiery chicken wings, fried oysters appetizer, hog nachos, and the house salad. Server was very helpful with suggestions and efficient. Negatives: (1) very small establishment with no inside waiting area with the exception of a very small bar (bar, not a bar area with tables) so you have to go to the back of... More

Hubs and I ate here in a recent trip to Richmond, and did so due to the great reviews here on TripAdvisor. It was well worth it! Hubs had the hog dog and it was huge - and delicious. We shared a plate of fried green tomatoes that were also delicious, and then I had the she-crab soup and a... More

Just went here on a Friday night @ 7pm w/ my husband & 11 month old...I recommend calling ahead--they will put your name down & then we only had like a 5 minute wait.. it's a small restaurant with VERY GOOD food!! I totally recommend the loaded homemade chips for an app. I got the bacon wrapped hotdog that had... More
