Always 5 stars!

We try not to go to Hogshead but once a month, the food is so good we cannot control ourselves. We stick with pulled pork which is melt in your mouth yummy, hush puppies - hot and very Southern, and the sides - corn pudding, coleslaw, potatoes, green, onion rings - all outstanding. I followed the travel advisor and decided to check out the restaurant. We decided to carry out since we knew the place was popular. We also knew the place was small to accommodate a lot of people. When we got their we went straight to the bar area. Order the pulled pork sandwiches and was given a 10 min wait.... More

My husband and I usually share a meal but tonight we didn't... Oh my goodness was it delicious!! He got the hot dog wrapped in bacon...need I say more? Pure deliciousness! I had the pulled chicken sandwich and it was melt in your mouth scrumptious. The sides were as delicious as the entree. Can't wait to go again...and I will!!!

The BBQ ribs are melt in your mouth and the pulled chicken was just as good. This place is small but we'll worth the stop. Come here for the food not the atmosphere since this is a cafe style restaurant. The deserts are all made here so don't miss the banana pudding or the great bread pudding! The southern dishes... Delicious ribs and pulled pork. Collard greens were excellent too. Ribs were large and meaty. Lots of food. Is a bit pricey, but the portions are large. Ribs were really a standout. Light smoke flavor, touch of sweet, super tender and meaty. Service was quick and very pleasant.

Stopped by for lunch. We have tried the fresh shucked fried oysters, asparagus fries, and hog nachos. My wife's favorite was the asparagus and mine were the oysters. The nachos alone would feed two people, and are piled high with their hand pulled pork BBQ. Always exceptional, and the choices of fresh vegetables are great.

The food is amazing and the servers are the nicest around. Don't forget to get a TRUE limeade while you are there - definitely NOT to be missed!

I was looking for a restaurant near my fathers house so I could take him out to lunch. I searched TripAdvisor, and this came up as #1 and boy were they right! Every thing we ate here was delicious! My daughter got the all beef hotdog wrapped in bacon, fried and topped with pulled pork and Cole slaw and said... More

If ribs are what you want, the only way you can go wrong at this compact restaurant is to not get seated. As many have noted, it's small-- about nine tables plus four seats at the bar-- and fills up fast (packed at 6 p.m. on a Wednesday night with a few folks waiting). This review is based on just... I ordered fried green tomatoes, Rueben and baked beans as a side. Overall, the menu has lots of interesting items, but all are overpriced. $13 for a Rueben is high and it wasn't great either. Corned beef was chopped to make it appear more tender, taste was average
