I spent 40.00 on lunch for me and my husband, but it was worth it. I read the review and wanted to try the hot dog with pulled pork and a piece of rib on top of it along with all the other items. Well just let me say that my husband who is a hot dog lover enjoyed it.... More

My wife and I have been frequenting Hogshead Cafe since its inception and we love this place. Not only is the BBQ great but the menu has many other non-BBQ related items (I.e., oysters, soft shell crabs, asparagus fries, steamed shrimp, she crab soup, lobster bisque soup, over the top hot dogs and burgers, salads, nachos and on and on... The title is true but the styles are really not comparable. The BBQ at HC is Carolina style and that is quite a bit different from Texas BBQ. Anyway, HogsHead is Great. Even better are the sides. I think I could live on the vegetables and other sides even if this blasphemy. No one will go hungry and unhappy here.... More

While visiting Richmond, our family was looking for a good place to eat that was local to our hotel. My daughter-in-Law located the Hogshead Cafe online and we were off to locate it. We travel frequently and experiencing the local dining is an important part of our travels. When we pulled up, we were less than impressed because of its... More

We were traveling through Richmond and saw this was conveniently located off I-64 (and well reviewed on TA!) so we decided to stop and do lunch. First impression: the place is fairly small so we were lucky to grab a table as soon as we walked in at 1:00 p.m. (Others 2 minutes behind us had to wait.) Cute retro... More

We ate there for the first time a few days ago, largely because of several favorable reviews we read. It was good, but not any better than lots of other barbeque places. We usually go to Q Barbeque because it's closer to where we live. I don't think Hogshead is as good as Q and it's much more expensive. The... More

We were coming back to MD from NC and wanted to miss some of DC traffic. Checked out Travel Adviser to see if we could find a place to eat a late lunch. We had to depart I-95 to get here, but was it worth it!!! We walked in with a couple of "regulars" who basically said we could not... More

Went there for lunch on a Tuesday around 11:50 and it was full already. Waitress said to stand around or wait outside. (outside was around 90 so we waited inside) Dining area is small but we were seated in about 20 minutes. Now for the good stuff...I had heard rumours about this Hogdog, all beef hot dog wrapped in bacon... More

We live in Canada and whenever we visit friends in Richmond Virginia, our first question is when can we go to HogsHead cafe. The most amazing barbecued food you will ever taste. There is nothing on the menu that isn't truly divine. Relax and enjoy the smells wafting out the door as you wait in the line.We so wish it... More

I don't get to Hogshead as often as I'd like. However, on my two visits with a family of four....we've enjoyed a total of 8 meals with leftovers to take home. Big portions, great value, and very worth their #1 trip advisor ranking! We will be back!
