Stylish food, stylish setting

We had a light lunch after viewing a special exhibition. It is a large stylish setting on the top floor of the VMFA, with one wall entirely made of glass overlooking the lawns and the former home for Confederate Widows. The spacious, glass-walled dining room with white tablecloths sets the stage for a great experience in dining and drinking. We were there for the art of the flower show, and to fit with the theme, our cocktails were adorned with appropriate flowers. The white sangria I had was filled with tropical fruit. My friend's gin cocktail was a pretty lavender... More

After viewing a stunning display of floral painting by the great impressionists we realized "Amuse" was two floors up. We squeezed in at 11:30 and had a fine lunch. The black decor sets off the glassed in views and black uniforms. We ate light with salad, mussels, and soft shell crabs. A beautiful refined experience.

Amuse is far more than a lovely restaurant for ladies who lunch in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; it is the best restaurant in Richmond with a menu that is appealing to men and women that changes regularly. The space is peaceful and beautiful, overlooking the sculpture garden and with an outside terrace perfect for dining on pretty days.... More

Got to be one of the best dining experiences in Richmond area! Amuse has location, ambiance, culinary delights and friendliest and helpful staff. Going to lunch at Amuse was akin to taking a short hop to France where outside dining and quality gastronomy are honed to perfection. Overlooking the sculpture and water garden, on the third floor shaded veranda and... More

Hip, current, New American menu in clean cut minimalist setting that overlooks the Robins Sculpture Garden and classic Pauley Education Center. Sit either inside or on the balcony. Rare chance to eat well in a museum, and this is known, so be sure to reserve your spot, either for lunch seven days, Sunday brunch, or dinner only on Thursday and... More

It's hard to beat fine dining in a fine art museum. Enjoy lovely vistas overlooking the museum sculpture garden and great imaginative dishes that please the palate. Worth visiting whenever in RVA. Great curried oysters, crab cakes and fiddle leaf salad. The NY strip looked luscious, maybe next trip.

Amuse continues to impress with its fresh, imaginative menu and drinks. Be sure to reserve and request a table at the window or on the porch because you will love the setting, overlooking the sculpture garden and various historic buildings. Sitting at other tables is not as pleasant. The food is uniformly well-prepared and presented, with many inventive dishes. The... More

Amuse has a beautiful site, well spaced tables, excellent food, and elegant friendly service. It is serene but sufficiently lively. It sets a standard for the mid-Atlantic area.
