Most unusual food-long, long sandwiches. All food was cooked in the kitchen you could pass on the way to the restrooms. So small and out of the way, but, packed until closing time.

My hubby and I go on date nights every week- this was a pleasant surprise. Limited menu selections, but done extremely well. I got the USS Wabash done over a salad and it was cooked, seasoned, and dressed extremely well. The only complaint we had was my husband arguing that the logo looks like a cow....food was great. Would love... More

We stopped here for lunch and I had the Brooklyn sandwich which was delicious and my wife's sandwich was also very good. The deviled eggs however were very bland. Servers were very friendly and we did not have to wait but there are very few tables inside, so when this place is busy for brunch I would expect a wait.

We were meandering home from New York to North Carolina and looking for a great lunch spot. Since we knew we would be in the Richmond area we googled great lunch spots and The Black Sheep sounded perfect and we were not disappointed. It is small and quaint and all of the staff was very pleasant. We were lucky to... More

We had about a 20 min wait at 4:30 in the afternoon. The restaurant is small, but they also didn't seem to turnaround tables very quickly. The menu is small, but diverse, which i appreciate. Since we were at an odd time, they were nice enough to let us order off the dinner menu that technically didn't start until 5pm.... More

Me & my fiancé went to dinner on a Friday night. We arrived at 7 & was finally seated at 7:50. The inside is very small. Probably a max of 30 people could be seated. We had the duck appetizer & it was by far the highlight of the meal. My fiancé had a half sub (still 12 inches) with... More

My husband and I went for lunch today - the lunch menu leaves a lot to be desired. It is a small menu, with the exception of all the sandwiches. Since the sandwiches are $13 for half sandwich and $19 for whole, we opted to split the Ms P - it has way too much going on - avocado, bacon,... More

It's pretty yummy. It's a tad pricey but you get what you pay for... I think they put magic and rainbows into those bread loaves! The best thing is they now have a "regular" roast coffee. It's a New Orleans brand. The original will burn a hole in your stomach. Oh and if you're meeting up friends head out early...... More

Brunch or lunch this causal urban restaurant provides excellent food with fast, friendly service. As a 40 year veteran of commercial cooking I know when an establishment is "doing the dance" right. These people are right on the money, they hit every note, they knock it out of the park. The Black Sheep is well worth our time and money.

It's always a pleasure to have lunch at the Black Sheep on a day off from work. I've never been disappointed. The fish tacos on the 4th of July were heavenly. Fresh from the broiler grouper smothered with crispy greens and those little red peppadew peppers (that I've never seen anywhere else) with grilled corn off the cob, chow chow... More
