A hidden out of the way restaurant which is BIG on taste. The group ordered the Panini (sundried tomato focaccia panini with caramelized onions, black olive tapenade, arugula, & goat cheese), the Wabash sub (Lemon & garlic marinated strip steak with white bean & parsnip hummus, topped with chopped romaine, pickled red onion, tomato & feta) and the freshest salad... We try a new restaurant each week for our date night. This week we decided to try Black Sheep as we have heard amazing reviews. Long story short, everything was amazing. We started with the 2 soups of the day - black bean and potato leek soup. Both were equally delicious. Our waitress (who was amazing...best service we've had in... More

Made the trek downtown and we are glad we made our destination "The Black Sheep". Quick, friendly, efficient service, but the food was the real star of the night. Shared an appetizer then on to the main course. The fish special was superb as was my choice of the Creole Cassoulet. We really didn't have room for dessert but we... More

We are from PA, saw this place on The Travel Channel. So as we were traveling through VA we had to stop :). SO glad we did. The food was fabulous!!! Our daughter had the French toast. My husband the USS Virginia and me, the USS Congress. Awesome flavors and presentation. We had to make room for the banana pudding... More

Bad experience with service. I have never EVER not left a tip in my 49 years, but this was a first time. :( We had a discrepancy with our order/bill and the waitress wouldn't listen to us....talked over us. I guess she had the grumpies...so we used her tip to pay for the discrepancy. Just not a pleasant experience.

The is one of my favorite places to eat when visiting Richmond. It is unpretentious, low key, casual, and the food is quality is superb. The cuisine is best known as New American, which I think can best be described as whatever is fresh and good. The place is known for its gigantic 20 inch baguette style sandwiches. But do... More

This place was featured on triple d or what is better known as Drive ins, Diners & Dives. The Black sheep fits the Dive category because of its location. It is on the edge of Virginia Commonwealth U. hospital campus. the business is located in a corner of re purposed warehouse. Parking is a bit rough but doable. But it... More
