Saturday Brunch

This is a fun spot for tasting excellent menu items. We had the green eggs & lamb, the no mas huevos nuevos and also the banana cream pie which is amazing. Four of us ate like kings and gueens there Friday night. Fortunately the motel was only 15 minutes away. Two of us spent the next 30 minute or so on our throne.

We tried it twice and the sandwiches are so delicious. My husband loves this place. We tried the USS Virginia battleship & it was so yummy. Also had the USS Wabash, it was amazingly cooked. The beef was well done. Highly recommended. You'll love the arts & the staff.

Dropped in after dropping off our college kid at VCU. Had lunch -- pork medallions and grits with a New Orleans-style red gravy. It was fabulous! Huge sandwiches filled with meats and interesting veggies in French baguettes, on Texas toast, and on ciabatta kept going past us, and they all looked great. Classic Richmond interior, with exposed brick walls, closely... More

I went to Black Sheep on a Sunday evening. Finding a place to park was a bit of a pain, but I didn’t have too bad of a walk when I finally found a spot I could squeeze my SUV into. Inside the place was packed too, I was lucky to grab the last table available when I showed up.... More

This place is worth the trip for the unusually large and colorfully named Battleship sandwiches. Part of the Black Sheep's "War of Northern Ingestion" Menu. As a storyteller, I appreciate the storytelling nature of their menu. Southern fusion is Richmond's specialty, and this place is most charming just for these sandwiches: the SS Sultana:grilled spiced ground lamb and beef with... More

My daughter found out about this place and off we went during a visit. There are so many choices for the sophisticated palate so my husband and daughter were in a state of complete delight. After a few substitutions, my meal was great.

My friend and I dropped off here on a stop over before a trip to Washington DC. The waitress was very kind as she helped us with out selections. The Pork chop & vittles is absolutely scrumptious, USS Brooklyn was OK. The Omnivore Soup idea is great but in honestly thought it was to0 rich. I would definitely go back... More

Stopped here on the way back to FL. We ordered the Congress and the Sultana. We arrived around 4 so it wasn't really busy and we were immediately seated. The congress reminded me slightly of a cuban sandwich and the pork was really juicy and the pineapple on it was a nice touch. The sultana had similarities to a gyro... More

We got 4 sandwiches to feed multiple families in town for the holidays. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors strong, the fun names creative, and the acombinations delightful. Our favorite was the USS Wabash. This restaurant has been recognized by TV shows & was definitely a good choice.
